Biography

Born in the NSW town of Lithgow, Wayde played junior football for the Lithgow Storm, before being recruited by the Penrith Panthers for the 2018 season. He has has agreed to terms for a three-year contract with the Vodafone Warriors through to the end of the 2022 NRL season.

A product of Penrith’s system, the Lithgow-born Egan has made 29 NRL appearances since his first-grade debut last year.

Wayde says he "has a passion for mental health". 

I would like to make a difference in other people's lives and advance my knowledge in this area.

It was this interest which led Wayde to decide to become an Advocate for the NRL's State of Mind program.

State of Mind aims to increase mental health literacy, reduce the stigma around mental illness, start positive conversation, and encourages individuals to seek assistance.
