Teagan Berry and Jesse Southwell have produced a pair of try-saving tackles to help NSW claim the Women's State of Origin series.

The Blues defeated Queensland 14-10 in a dramatic contest at Suncorp Stadium, with Maroons winger Jasmine Peters denied twice in the final 15 minutes.

Southwell produced the first tackle to take the winger into touch in the 67th minute before Berry came up with a series-winning play with 24 seconds left on the clock.

Queensland went from elation to devastation with Peters' 70th-minute effort originally awarded before the Bunker spotted a foot on the touchline and disallowed the try.

The result ensures NSW take a 2-0 series lead after John Strange's side prevailed 11-6 in Game One. The Blues fell short of a clean sweep in 2025 and they are desperate to make it 3-0 this year.

NSW burst out of the gates on Thursday night to jump out to an 8-0 lead thanks to tries by Jaime Chapman and Keeley Nizza.

Queensland hit back before the break through Rory Owen and they had the lead early in the second when Jada Ferguson crashed over.

The advantage was short-lived, however, with Jess Sergis putting the Blues back in front just three minutes later.

Queensland had chances to level the scores as full-time approached but they were unable to break down the Blues' defensive wall in a thrilling conclusion to a classic Origin contest.

Berry saves the game

70th minute: We are all locked up. Jasmine Peters has somehow grounded the ball in the corner before she was tackled into touch by Teagan Berry. Or are we? The Bunker has taken a close look at this. Peters' toe touched the sideline before she grounded the ball and the try has been disallowed. Maroons 10 - Blues 14

69th minute: The Maroons will have one last chance to strike. Julia Robinson was tackled high, Lauren Brown finds touch and Queensland have 80 seconds to level the scores. Maroons 10 - Blues 14.

67th minute: Emma Manzelmann has darted from dummy half on the last tackle and broken through the Blues defensive line. The utility got to the 10-metre line before she was dragged down and NSW hold on. Less than three minutes to play. Maroons 10 - Blues 14.

66th minute: This time it's Queensland who produce a crucial defensive play, denying the Blues to stay in the contest. NSW had successive attacking sets of six and came close on multiple plays but the Maroons stepped up to remain within touching distance as the clock ticks down. Maroons 10 - Blues 14.

60th minute: We're into the final 10 minutes with Queensland breathing a sigh of relief after Teagan Berry spilled the ball in attacking territory. The Maroons trail by four and need a try to keep this series alive. Maroons 10 - Blues 14.

Southwell saves a certain ty

57th minute: We're off to the Bunker with Jesse Southwell producing a spectacular try-saving tackle. Teagan Berry was unable to catch a bomb, with Jasmine Peters picking up the loose ball and a clear run to the try-line. Southwell, however, came across in cover defence to get her body under the ball and drag the winger into touch. That could be a match-defining play for the Blues. Maroons 10 - Blues 14.

56th minute: Play has paused temporarily after NSW halfback Jesse Southwell fell awkwardly in a tackle. The playmaker has received some treatment for a neck injury but is back on her feet and will play on. Maroons 10 - Blues 14.

53rd minute: The Maroons have a chance to level the scores but NSW produce try-saving tackles on both edges to maintain their advantage. The second came as Jasmine Peters looked destined to score in the corner, but the Blues cover defence got there in time to take her into touch. Maroons 10 - Blues 14.

Jessica Sergis Try

47th minute: Queensland's lead was short lived, with NSW hitting straight back. An error by Brianna Clark handed the visitors possession immediately after the Maroons' try and the Blues capitalised. After Abbi Church nearly sliced through down the left, NSW attacked to the right and Jessica Sergis was able to get between two defenders and score in the corner. Jesse Southwell nails the sideline conversion and the lead is four. Maroons 10 - Blues 14.

Jada Ferguson Try

44th minute: The Maroons have the lead for the first time tonight, Jada Ferguson burrowing over from dummy half. A NSW error handed Queensland a chance to attack, with a penalty generating a fresh set of six. The Maroons could have taken the two but went for the try and the risk paid off. Heavy rain falling now at Suncorp Stadium. Maroons 10 - Blues 8.

39th minute: A mix up at the back handed NSW the first chance to strike in the second half but the Maroons successfully defended their own line before forcing an error. The hosts have now received a penalty and a chance to march down the field. Maroons 6 - Blues 8.

Kick-off: The second half is underway, with Queensland needing to overturn a two-point deficit to keep the Women's Origin series alive. The Blues controlled the opening 25 minutes of the first half but the Maroons found their groove and a Rory Owen try cut the deficit to just two. Maroons 6 - Blues 8.

Half-time: Big moment on the stroke of half-time, with Queensland earning a penalty straight after points. The Blues were on the back foot and defending their own line, but a Jada Ferguson grubber went dead and NSW hold on. The Blues largely dominated the opening 35 minutes but they lead by just two points at the break. Maroons 6 - Blues 8.

Rory Owen Try

30th minute: Three repeat sets were enough for the Maroons to break through, Rory Owen latching on to a Tamika Upton pass to crash over from close range. The Blues were stretched after Sienna Lofipo came close on the previous play and Upton capitalised down the short side. Lauren Brown slots the conversion from out wide and we have a two-point game. Meanwhile Teagan Berry has been injected into the contest on the left wing for the Blues, replacing Jayme Fressard.  Maroons 6 - Blues 8.

No one is catching that one

27th minute: Queensland have their chance to hit back after Chantay Kiria-Ratu produced a booming bomb that Abbi Church was unable to reel in. The ball swirled in the Brisbane sky before dropping away from the NSW fullback as it came back down to earth. Maroons 0 - Blues 8.

Keeley Nizza Try

23rd minute: The Blues have their second. The pressure continued to build on the Maroons after Jesse Southwell forced a line dropout. The hosts eventually cracked, Keeley Nizza throwing a dummy and burrowing over from dummy half to extend her side's lead. Maroons 0 - Blues 8

21st minute: NSW have lodged a Captain's Challenge after Olivia Kernick was ruled to have knocked the ball on. The forward juggled the ball as a defender approached but tapped it back before it touched Jessika Elliston. The loose ball was then knocked on by Keilee Joseph. It's a successful challenge and NSW have an attacking scrum 10 metres out from the try line. Maroons 0 - Blues 4.

Here comes Tamika

18th minute: The Blues are under siege but their goal-line defence continues to hold firm. Tamika Upton picked up a loose ball and ran 50 metres to put her side in attacking territory and the Maroons worked their way to the goal line, but an error on the last tackle brought an end to the opportunity. Both coaches have started turning to their benches, with fresh legs coming on to the field after a frenetic start to the game. Maroons 0 - Blues 4.

The Blues rock solid

13th minute: Now it's NSW's turn to aim up defensively after Queensland produced a series of powerful carries to flip the field. An error handed the Maroons an attacking opportunity and Tamika Upton came agonisingly close to scoring but was held just short of the line. Maroons 0 - Blues 4.

Jaime Chapman Try

9th minute: The Blues have struck first to silence the Suncorp Stadium crowd. It was the second time NSW attacked down the right edge, the first play came unstuck but on this occasion Jess Sergis did enough to draw in Julia Robinson and send Jaime Chapman over for the try. Maroons 0 - Blues 4

The famous Queensland spirit

3rd minute: NSW have the first opportunity of the contest after an early penalty however the Queensland defence is up to the task. It's an important stop for the Maroons, who force an error and regain possession. Maroons 0 - Blues 0.

Origin II is underway!

Kick-off: Game Two of the Women's State of Origin series is underway as Queensland look to keep the series alive in wet conditions in Brisbane. The Maroons have the advantage of home turf but NSW have never lost at Suncorp Stadium. Fullback Tamika Upton will play a key role for Queensland, while Jessica Sergis shapes as a gamebreaker for the Blues. Maroons 0 - Blues 0.
