With one of Fantasy's most-owned HLF/WFBs ruled out by a long-term injury this week, and a key EDG rested, there's set to be some forced trade activity for a number of coaches.

Ahead of Round 17 we break down what to do in both of those situations, including the best options to replace Fletcher Sharpe.

Fantasy Q&A: Round 17

Who are the best options to move to from Fletcher Sharpe?

These options are written assuming you don't have a wad of spare cash sitting there (if you do, that's great!). So, the best options who are available for less than Sharpe is worth are as follows.

In terms of HLFs there's some logic in Jamal Fogarty from here. He's steering the competition's second-best team around the park and should win more than he loses for the remainder of the season, with plenty of try assists, line break assists etc to come with that. He also kicks goals which is an added bonus.

The downside is that Canberra still have two byes to come (Round 19 and 24).

Jamal Fogarty Try

If you want to cash down and invest in another spot then someone like Latu Fainu makes sense.

He should be the locked in halfback at the Wests Tigers for at least a month while Jahream Bula is injured and usual half Heath Mason is required at fullback. He will make some money in that time and should score at a level that makes him at least a loop option.

A strategy I like if you go this way is to then wait until post Round 18 when Jayden Campbell, who like Sharpe has DPP status as both a WFB and HLF, should be available at a bargain price.

Campbell misses this week due to a head injury and faces an 88 break even when he returns, meaning he should be available at less than his current $677k price.

Campbell carves up the Sea Eagles

As far as other WFB eligible players go, Jacob Kiraz (CTR/WFB, $722k) stands out.

Like Fogarty, he's in a team that should win more than they lose from here, and in Kiraz's case there's going to be lots of opportunities for tries.

His game is based around power running too, which tends to lend itself to a higher floor in Fantasy.

Another option which will save you some cash as well is Reece Walsh (WFB, $497k).

Reece Walsh is back!

He's much higher risk, although he appears to have shaken off his horror start to the season in Fantasy and is now riding a 46.3 last three game average.

The earlier Jayden Campbell strategy would also work here.

Do I move off Young now he's rested this week?

The answer depends mostly on whether you're playing for overall points or a head-to-head league with bye rounds on (meaning you play through the major bye rounds), or if you're in a league with bye rounds off.

If it's one of the first two options then it means you'll be missing Hudson Young for the next three weeks, due to his unavailability in Round 18 while in Origin camp and Round 19 when the Raiders have a bye.

Young shines

In this scenario he's a trade out. That's too much salary to have sitting in your reserves and it's going to significantly hamstring your team for a few weeks.

if your league has bye rounds off however (meaning you don't play in Round 18 or 19), you're only actually looking at missing him for this week.

If you can take the hit of missing him this week then I'd definitely be holding, as he's an EDG you'll want in your best 17 come the end of the year.
