Titans forward Reagan Campbell-Gillard is preparing himself for a 'weird' experience when he takes on his old side Parramatta for the first time on Sunday.

After five seasons and 107 games in the blue and gold, Campbell-Gillard was told wasn't part of new Eels coach Jason Ryles' plans for 2025 and he now calls the Gold Coast home.

Playing arguably his best game for the Titans in their 28-8 upset over the Sea Eagles in Round 15, Campbell Gillard said he had “pencilled in” this Sunday’s game when the draw came out.

“Oh yeah, I reckon I had that circled as soon as I left,” Campbell-Gillard said with a laugh. "It's definitely going to be a lot of fun I think.

“I think it would be definitely weird. I did it when I left Penrith, as well.

“It's been a little bit of a longer time and I've still got a lot of close friends there as well, so it's going to be a little bit weird but I think it should be fine.”

In the absence of Queensland Origin stars Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Moeaki Fotuaika, the 234-game veteran stepped up to fill the void with 112 metres from 14 runs in a team performance he said has been brewing for weeks.

“It was coming and building, and I think we just executed right. We had to go forward and with our shifts as well and I think we had that balance correct all night," he said.

“Our 1-to-17, I think we all did our job pretty well; but now, we have to back it up.

“It's been there all year … (and it was a) good response (to the loss against the Broncos). But we've been in games for the last 10 weeks, but just some lapses in some detail are where it's hurting us. We didn’t have that (against Manly) which was rewarding.

“You can see what we can do as a team.”

Not only were the forwards impressive but speedsters AJ Brimson and Alofiana KhanPereira also shone, with the winger's first-half double taking him to 50 career tries in just 52 games.

That equalled the record set by former Eels and Fiji winger Semi Radradra in 2016 as the quickest to get to 50 tries.

AKP hits a milestone

“I actually wasn’t thinking about it before the game to be honest, I was in a bit of a shock afterwards when everyone was saying it,” Khan-Pereira said.

“I'm actually really privileged and I couldn't have done it without the boys, except for that one try when I come back in!

“It’s massive even to be next to him (Radradra). He's one of the greatest wingers too, so it's awesome.”

Despite entering Round 16 in last place, the Titans are just four points outside the top eight, and Khan-Pereira is adamant they have what it takes to go on a winning run.

“We're our own worst enemy, so it's up to us to how we want to play it and put our wins together,” Khan-Pereira said.

“I think we are very confident after that win against Manly, it's a massive boost for us and I'm excited for what's next to come.”
