An undermanned South Sydney side faces a tough task as they look to upset the Melbourne Storm on Saturday night.

The Rabbitohs have been the walking wounded this season and added Jayden Sullivan, Jye Gray and Keaon Koloamatangi to the casualty ward in last week's loss to Canterbury.

Wayne Bennett has been impressed with the effort from the youngsters who have stepped up and they'll need to deliver a flawless performance to prevail at Accor Stadium.

Melbourne enjoyed the bye last weekend and coach Craig Bellamy faces a tough decision over whether to back up his Origin players after Wednesday's clash in Perth.

The situation will see halfback Jahrome Hughes take on additional responsibility as he looks to guide the side through a tricky period.

Team News

Rabbitohs:Coach Wayne Bennett confirmed fullback Latrell Mitchell will back up following Wednesday's Origin clash and captain the side. Keaon Koloamatangi will also play less than a week after suffering a facial fracture, and he has been named in the front row in the 24-hour update. However, Cody Walker (groin) and Campbell Graham (back spasms) will wait at least another week before making their returns. The duo were initially named in the extended squad, but Bennett dropped out on Friday. English playmaker Lewis Dodd also dropped out of the 17 despite being initially named in the No.6 jumper, with Jack Wighton shifting to five-eighth, Euan Aitken moving to centre and Jai Arrow dropping back from the frontrow to secondrow. No further changes in Saturday's final team update, with Lewis Dodd the 18th man.

Storm: Maroons winger Xavier Coates will not back up, but Cameron Munster, Harry Grant, Trent Loiero and Stefano Utoikamanu will play for the Storm. There has been a late reshuffle, however, with both Loiero and Utoikamanu shifting to the bench in the final team update. Tui Kamikamica will now start at prop and Nelson Asofa-Solomona comes into lock. Alec MacDonald will make his return from a quad injury after being elevated to the interchange on Friday. Bronson Garlick is 18th man.
