The Sydney Roosters are proud to announce details of the Club’s second annual Emergency Services Match, which will take place during Round 16 of the NRL Premiership against the North Queensland Cowboys at Allianz Stadium on Sunday, June 22.
The Emergency Services Match honours the vital contributions of emergency services personnel, first responders, medical professionals, and volunteers from NSW’s eight emergency services agencies.
This recognition is especially timely following the recent devastating floods across the Mid-North Coast and Hunter regions. Thousands of emergency services personnel responded selflessly, carrying out over 800 rescues and attending more than 8,500 calls for assistance. Their tireless work continues, with teams still on the ground completing more than 12,000 damage assessments and clearing over 18,000 cubic metres of debris.
All eight emergency services agencies will be represented at the match: NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service, Surf Life Saving NSW, NSW State Emergency Service, Marine Rescue NSW, and VRA Rescue NSW.
Following the NSW Police Force as last year’s inaugural spotlight agency, the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) will take centre stage in 2025, with a special pre-game show paying tribute to their outstanding service and unwavering dedication.
The Allianz Stadium precinct will come alive from 1.15pm, with activations, displays of specialist equipment, and personnel from all participating agencies on hand to engage with fans.
Gates open at 1.45pm, ahead of a curtain-raiser match between the NSW Police and the Australian Firefighters, kicking off at 1.55pm.
The RFS-led pre-game show will feature a match ball delivery by an RFS helicopter, a motorcade of RFS vehicles, a live performance of an original song by ‘Grace and Hugh’ written especially for the RFS, and a special tribute moment involving 250 RFS volunteers.
Sydney Roosters CEO Joe Kelly said the initiative was an important opportunity to give back to those who serve the community.
“The Emergency Services Match is a significant occasion on our calendar. It’s our chance to say thank you to the selfless individuals who protect and support our communities through some of their most difficult times,” said Kelly.
“We’re proud to shine the spotlight on the NSW Rural Fire Service this year and acknowledge their incredible efforts and commitment. We encourage all Members and fans to arrive early, explore the activations outside Allianz Stadium, and be in their seats to help us give the RFS the recognition they so richly deserve,” he added.
Families heading to the game can take advantage of a special ticket offer, with up to four junior tickets available for just $5 each when purchased alongside a Category 2 or General Admission adult ticket. This offer is available online via Ticketek and will continue until allocations are exhausted.
In a blockbuster afternoon of Sunday footy, one lucky fan will also drive away in a brand new BYD Sealion 6 during a halftime giveaway, thanks to the Sydney Roosters’ Major Partner, BYD.
