Starting this Sunday 15 June, Newcastle-based personal trainer and endurance athlete Scott Hingston will embark on an extraordinary 12-day run in support of the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF).

Aligning with the NRL’s 2025 Beanie for Brain Cancer Round (Round 17), Scott is taking on this challenge to raise awareness and vital funds for brain cancer research.

Scott will kick off his journey at AAMI Park – the home of Melbourne Storm, running all the way to McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle —covering a staggering 1,100 kilometres in just 12 days. He plans to run 80–85km per day.

Scott is no stranger to ultra-distance efforts. In August 2023, he completed a 170km run from Merewether to Singleton and back in under 24 hours, raising over $22,000 for victims of the Hunter Valley bus tragedy.

Throughout his journey, Scott will stop at various rugby league locations, using them as checkpoints to raise awareness and engage with local communities. He’ll be joined at the starting line this Sunday by some of the Melbourne Storm Old Boys, lending further support to his mission.

Scott is inviting the Melbourne Storm community to get involved—whether by joining him for a leg of the run, donating or becoming a sponsor of the challenge. Every bit of help makes a difference.
