As it happened: Top Dogs take down Eels in front of monster crowd

Next week: The Bulldogs will take on the Rabbitohs in Round 15 without Origin stars Stephen Crichton, Max King and Kurt Mann, while Matt Burton is the Blues' 18th man. The Eels have a bye.

Full-time: The Bulldogs wrap up their 10th win of the season with Connor Tracey running for 240 metres, Harry Hayes 218 metres, Max King 229 metres and Marcelo Montoya 207 metres. The Bulldogs completed 47 of 52 sets at 90 per cent and came up with six line breaks to two, and 39 tackle breaks to 25.

80 min: Viliame Kikau is sent for a HIA with 15 seconds left in the match and the Dogs launch one last raid with Lipoi Hopoi dragged down just short of the line.

79 min: Daniel Suluka-Fifita spills the ball, the Bulldogs challenge the call, replays show high contact from Mitch Moses who is placed on report.

77 min: Marcelo Montoya comes up with one of the hits of the season on Will Penisini as the blue and white party kicks into gear.

74 min: A magic moment for Lachlan Galvin when he finishes off a brilliant team try that started with a Jacob Kiraz offload in traffic to Connor Tracey who found Josh Curran who offloaded to Galvin. The conversion makes it 30-12.

73 min: Eels forward Jack Williams leaves the field for a HIA.

72 min: The Eels go right looking for Zac Lomax but a loose pass from Isaiah Iongi goes astray and the opportunity is lost.

69 min: The Eels' resistance is finally broken when Kurt Mann dummies his way through the line and picks up Harry Hayes in support, the bench forward capping a sensational afternoon with a try. Stephen Crichton converts. Bulldogs 24-12.

67 min: Sean Russell comes up with a spectacular catch off a Lachlan Galvin kick but the Eels look to be just hanging on.

66 min: Will Penisini is met heavily by Bronson Xerri and loses the ball in the collision, putting Parra under massive pressure again.

65 min: Kurt Mann comes up with a poor play the ball with the Bulldogs hot on attack and the Eels hold on.

61 min: Milestone man Connor Tracey comes up with a big play in his 100th game when he joins the backline and holds off Mitch Moses before getting an offload back inside for Viliame Kikau to score. Stephen Crichton pushes the conversion wide and the margin stays at six. Bulldogs 18-12.

59 min: The Eels continue to stand tall in defence with Sean Russell shutting down Stephen Crichton and forcing an error from the Bulldogs skipper.

57 min: Lachlan Galvin takes the field for the first time as a Bulldog and gets a great reception from the Blue and White Army. Reed Mahoney leaves the field and Toby Sexton moves to dummy half.

54 min: Zac Lomax takes a quick tap and makes good metres but loses the ball as he tries to play it and the Bulldogs go on the attack from 30 metres out.

52 min: Bronson Xerri gets into the back field but Isaiah Iongi comes up with a courageous front-on tackle and then doubles up by cleaning up a grubber on the next play.

51 min: A penalty against Mitch Moses for a high tackle on Kurt Mann hands Stephen Crichton an easy shot at goal. Bulldogs 14-12.

48 min: J'maine Hopgood makes a mess of the play-the-ball and the Eels are under the pump early.

47 min: A deft grubber from Stephen Crichton earns the Bulldogs a line dropout but Zac Lomax flies high and taps the dropout back for the Eels to take possession,

46 min: Viliame Kikau returns from the bin and we're back to 13 on 13.

43 min: The Bulldogs fail to contest a bomb and allow Zac Lomax to take the catch. Lomax gets an offload away but the ball goes loose and the Bulldogs clean it up.

Wingers in: Bulldogs duo Marcelo Montoya and Jacob Kiraz combined for 23 runs and 243 metres while Parra's Zac Lomax came up with 14 runs for 116 metres and Josh Addo-Carr had six tackle breaks.

Half-time: The Bulldogs completed 23 of 25 sets at 92 per cent in the wet conditions while the Eels went 16 from 21 at 76 per cent. Up front it was Blues prop Max King showing the way for the Dogs with 119 metres from 11 runs while Eels veteran Junior Paulo had six runs, four tackle breaks and a try assist. 

40 min: Zac Lomax takes a long-range shot at a two-point field but doesn't strike the ball sweetly and the scores remain locked up at the break.

37 min: Junior Paulo powers into the line and engages three defenders before getting an offload away to Dylan Walker who goes over for his first try as an Eel. The conversion from Zac Lomax ties it up at 12-12.

36 min: Viliame Kikau is placed on report and sent to the sin bin for making late contact with Mitch Moses' leg after the Eels halfback had gotten a kick away.

34 min: A Matt Burton grubber rolls just a touch too long as Zac Lomax shadows it over the dead ball line and the Eels get a tap restart.

31 min: Matt Doorey leaves the field for a HIA after a head clash with teammate Kelma Tuilagi as they attempted a tackle. Doorey had only been on the field for nine minutes before he has forced off. The prop passed his HIA and was able to return at the start of the second half.

28 min: A pinpoint Toby Sexton bomb gives Jacob Kiraz a chance but the winger knocks the ball on as he tries to tap it back.

27 min: Josh Addo-Carr comes up with a sensational take under the high ball and the Eels work the ball away from their own with Sean Russell on the end of a bell ringer from Max King.

20 min: Matt Burton swings to the left side and picks up Bronson Xerri who sends Marcelo Montoya away on a 20-metre run to the line for the Dogs' second try. Stephen Crichton strikes the conversion perfectly. Bulldogs 12-6.

19 min: The Bulldogs go left and Zac Lomax is forced to knock down a pass to avert the danger and the blue and whites get a fresh set from 40 metres out.

15 min: A chance for the Eels on the right edge but Stephen Crichton comes up with a superb cover tackle to bundle Isaiah Iongi into touch.

14 min: Bulldogs prop Daniel Suluka-Fifita is placed on report for a shoulder charge.

12 min: With their line under siege, Zac Lomax comes up with a huge play to intercept a Matt Burton pass and put Mitch Moses away down the right wing, the halfback going 80 metres to score. Lomax converts. 6-6.

10 min: A poor pass out of dummy half by Ryley Smith is spilled by Josh Addo-Carr and the Eels find themselves under pressure again.

7 min: Bailey Hayward comes up with a dropped ball 40 metres out from his own tryline and the Eels get the scrum feed but Matt Burton picks off a Ryley Smith pass and races 60 metres to score the game's opening try. Stephen Crichton converts. Bulldogs 6-0.

5 min: The Eels withstand early pressure after Sean Russell makes a mess of a bomb and a string of six-again calls go against them but they defend their line strongly and come away from their own end.

Bulldogs: Bailey Hayward starts at lock and Kurt Mann moves to the bench in a game day switch. Lachlan Galvin will make his club debut from the bench in jersey No.23 following his release from Wests Tigers last week, pushing Kurt Morrin to 18th man. 

Eels: Youngster Joash Papalii has been added to the bench an hour before kick-off with Ryan Matterson making way. That comes after Luca Moretti dropped out of the squad on Sunday and Matt Doorey was added to the bench in jumper No.19.
