Talk of trading out a Fantasy gun has been widely circulated this week, while coaches are pondering whether to make a move for a potential Wests Tigers cash cow as well.

Thoughts on both of those topics, plus the Jayden Campbell v Scott Drinkwater debate, here below.

Is it time to trade Haas?

Only if you aren't going to want him back later, or you are so flush with trades that you're happy to burn two on him.

Was last week's 45 on the back of Origin I a let down? Of course. But it was also just the second time all season that he's scored under 58 points, so let's keep things in perspective.

At this point you've already absorbed one of his post-Origin games, while the remaining two will see him get a four-day gap between state duty and backing up for the Broncos, possibly helping him to be in better shape.

He was always likely to have his worst patch through this period, but he's a player I know I want in my final 17 for the season, which makes me reluctant to move him.

POM in Origin, 60 minutes against Manly and Payne Haas is there to save the day. Unreal.

If that isn't the case for you, or you think you've got enough remaining trades to be able to bring him back post-Origin and not cause yourself issues, then maybe it's a yes.

Trade in Jayden Campbell or Scott Drinkwater?

He's going to cost you an extra $113k, but I think Jayden Campbell is worth the investment.

Campbell has scores above 60 in five of eight games so far in 2025, with his lowest score being a respectable 46.

Jayden Campbell Try

While his team are worse than Drinkwater's Cowboys, the fact that Campbell has more capacity for individual stats like tackle busts – compared to his counterpart who relies more on try assists – means team performance doesn't actually impact him much.

Drinkwater is a fine WFB option whose ceiling is as high as anyone's in that position, but Campbell is by far the better week-to-week option.

DPP status as both a WFB and HLF is a nice little bonus too.

Is Heath Mason a buy?

Yes, but he's also not a must-have prospect.

Heath Mason Try

A decent on-field performance in his first go as the Wests Tigers' No.6, which led to an impressive 54 Fantasy points, means Mason should get an extended run in the starting side and make some money in Fantasy along the way.

But neither of those things are guaranteed.

Take away his try and two line breaks from the loss to the Cowboys and that 54 would be a 38, while you could view his eight missed tackles (-16 Fantasy points) as either an area of ongoing concern or potential improvement.

There's also the return off fellow young gun Latu Fainu – who can also play in the halves – to consider, although for the time being it is Mason who has the five-eighth job with Fainu on the bench.

Buy Mason if you want a mid-season cash cow that should be able to make you $100k over the space of four or five games, but probably don't if you're thinking he might have a place in your 17 on a weekly basis.
