The Westpac NSW Blues headed into Game Two determined to end Queensland’s recent State of Origin dominance and were able to close out this year's series with a 26-6 win at Allianz Stadium.
On the back of a dominant 32-12 triumph in Game One, John Strange's team relished playing in front of a boisterous 16,026 strong home crowd in Sydney, a huge effort in torrential conditions.
While the Maroons fought back from 1-0 down last year to win in Newcastle and Townsville and were looking to draw on that same fighting spirit to send the 2025 series to a decider, but they were unable to muster the same effort.
The Blues claim an Origin series for the first time in their history and will be eyeing a clean sweep to complete a dominant showing so far. Game Three will be played at Newcastle on Thursday, May 29.

NSW Blues: Game II
Post-match: Olivia Kernick claimed player of the match honours for her performance which included two tries, 236 rum metres and 35 tackles in a dominant showing in the middle.
Injury update: Both sides may have some ongoing injury issues to contend with, with Tamika Upton a major concern for the Maroons, unable to finish the game with an upper leg injury. The Blues also had Jess Sergis (neck) and Jaime Chapman (cramps) unable to finish the match.
Fulltime: The Blues have claimed an Origin series win for the first time in their history with a relentless performance in the wet against Queensland. While the Maroons were in the game early, scoring the opening try, the momentum started to turn halfway through the first half and the home side went on with it to score a 26-6 win.
The Maroons missed 47 tackles to 10 to the Blues in a hugely telling stat, with NSW also making five line breaks to Queensland's none.
62nd min: After forcing a line-drop out, the Blues use the advantage and are over again with Kernick getting a double to put a dagger through the heart of the Maroons who were desperately trying to hold on and turn the momentum around. Southwell converts and it's 26-6.

Olivia Kernick with a Try vs Maroons Queensland Women
Injury update: Chapman came from the field in the 55th minute with severe cramps in a game that is proving to be one of the toughest.
Some great kick pressure all game from the Blues, forcing multiple line drop outs to pin Queensland in their own half, with the forwards continuing on from the opening match with some powerful runs.
59th min: Blues interchange Jocelyn Kelleher is put on report for pressure on the legs of the kicker when Lauren Brown lofts up a kick.
Injury update: Big blows for both sides to start the second half - Jess Sergis did not come back for the second half with a neck injury sustained in a tackle. Upton succumbs to her leg injury, with Tarryn Aiken moving to fullback.
45th min: Jaime Chapman gets in on the try-scoring act and slides her way over with a stepping run to the line. 39th min: Jayme Fressard pushes the Blues out further in front going over on the far left corner, just keeping her feet in before touching the ball down to score. The try came after NSW got themselves a repeat set from a kick from Southwell kick. She can't convert however and the score remains 16-6.
The Blues have been applying the pressure since the second half started, producing a charge down to frustrate Queensland.
Halftime: The Blues head into the sheds with a 12-6 after two great individual runs for tries from Taufa and Kernick. At the break, the stats show the Blues with a slight possession advantage with 51% of the ball, but only completing 12/20 to Queensland's 13/18. NSW have also made eight errors to Queensland's five, but still find themselves in front in a tense match.
Bit of feeling before halftime with Queensland penalised for an incorrect play the ball, with Kennedy Cherrington overexuberant in celebrating and pushing Chelsea Lenarduzzi who does not take kindly to that. Referee Belinda Sharpe speaks to both captains and it's play on.
