The Westpac NSW Blues are determined to end Queensland’s recent State of Origin dominance and will look to close out this year's series with a win at Allianz Stadium.

NSW had the chance to claim the shield last year after they put on a similarly strong performance in the series opener at Suncorp Stadium, only to see the Maroons fight back to claim the inaugural three-game series.

The Blues have not won the State of Origin Shield since the concept expanded to a series in 2023.

The Maroons are equally adamant they can repeat history to go back-to-back and retain the shield, but they will need to make plenty of improvements if they are to upset the hosts in Sydney, with too many errors proving costly.

Team News

Blues: Coach John Strange has retained the same starting 17 that got the job done against Queensland in the series opener at Suncorp Stadium. The only change to the extended squad sees Roosters winger Brydie Parker, who is yet to make her debut for NSW, named in the No.20 jersey alongside fellow reserves Titans forward Shaylee Bent and Knights hooker Olivia Higgins. No changes for the Blues an hour out from the game, with Bent the 18th player.

Maroons: Chelsea Lendarduzzi has been drafted into the 17 for Game Two, with coach Tahnee Norris looking to bolster her forward pack after they were outmuscled in the opening game. The Broncos forward will come on to the bench, with Destiny Brill reverting to the reserves in No.19. Winger Jasmine Peters failed to finish Game One with a head knock, but the timing of the matches means she will be free to play after clearing the concussion protocols. Halfback Ali Brigginshaw and fullback Tamika Upton will co-captain the side. No changes an hour out from the match, with Hayley Maddick the 18th player.
