The depleted Rabbitohs have lost four on the bounce heading into a clash with a Broncos outfit sure to be smarting after being blown off the park by the Panthers at Magic Round.
Superstar Latrell Mitchell's return from suspension can't come soon enough for Wayne Bennett as he searches for a spark to ignite an attack that has produced just 36 points across the four-game losing streak.
For the Broncos the issue lies more in the disparity between their best and worst performances, humbled 32-8 by the Panthers just a week after a slashing 42-18 victory over the Bulldogs.
With the Origin period looming it's imperative they bank wins against the lower placed Rabbitohs and Dragons in the next fortnight before a host of their stars are called away on rep duty.
