The Roosters have produced a remarkable turnaround to stun the Broncos just six weeks after suffering a 50-point drubbing to Brisbane in Round 1.
Rookie halfback Hugo Savala was superb in his first game in the No.7, and just his fourth NRL match, to lead his side to a 26-16 upset victory in front of 40,814 fans.
Roosters coach Trent Robinson turned to the 23-year-old after veteran Chad Townsend struggled throughout the past few weeks and Savala did not disappoint.
Captain James Tedesco and hooker Connor Watson both led from the front, while centre Billy Smith scored a first-half double with two crucial tries.
Brisbane fought hard in the second half, however they were not able to make the energy and enthusiasm of the Roosters for the full 80 minutes.
Earlier in the night, the Dragons turned on the points to secure their second win of the NRL season.
St George Illawarra crossed for seven tries to topple the Titans 38-16 in an entertaining clash at WIN Stadium.
The result continued the Gold Coast's horror record at the venue, the club still chasing their first victory in Wollongong.

From the Field: Adam Reynolds
Full-time: The Roosters have held on to secure a stunning upset in front of more than 40,000 fans at Suncorp Stadium.
Brisbane put 50 points on the Roosters just six weeks ago, but Trent Robinson's men have turned the table on the back of rookie halfback Hugo Savala and hooker Connor Watson.

From the field: James Tedesco
The Roosters felt they let a win slip through their grasp last week against South Sydney and they ensured it would not happen again tonight. As for the Broncos, they tried hard but couldn't match their opponents intensity throughout the 80 minutes. Broncos 16 - Roosters 26
72nd minute: Brisbane have entered desperation mode and that's a dangerous place to be for the Roosters. The Broncos have started to throw the ball around and pose plenty of questions of their opponents' defence.
They came within inches of narrowing the margin, however more desperate Roosters defence forced an error as Xavier Willison dived for the line. Broncos 16 - Roosters 26

Nat Butcher Try
67th minute: The Broncos are throwing plenty at their opponents, but you can tell the Roosters are up for this one. Their defence has been too good and they have scrambled desperately to hold Brisbane out.
Now they have turned defence into attack and Nat Butcher has charged over for a crucial try. James Tedesco went straight through from deep inside his own half and while the Broncos initially held firm, the pressure proved too great. Multiple set restarts allowed the Roosters to slowly wear the defenders out and Butcher's try was the end result.
The Broncos have also copped a blow, with Jesse Arthars ruled out for the remainder of the match after being placed in the head knock protocols. Broncos 16 - Roosters 24

Jesse Arthars Try
51st minute: The Broncos needed to score first after the break and that is what they've done. A period of sustained pressure eventually proved too great for the Roosters, with Jesse Arthars getting on the outside of Dom Young to score in the corner.
The try allows Arthars to regain the sole lead on the NRL's top try-scoring list with eight tries for this season after Christian Tuipulotu lifted his tally to seven with a double earlier tonight. Broncos 16 - Roosters 20

Angus Crichton Try
Half-time: The Roosters have made the most of the man advantage and kicked further clear on the eve of half-time. A penalty for a high shot put the visitors on the attack and Connor Watson made the most of split markers to send Angus Crichton over for a try.
The game looked to be slipping away from the visitors when Brisbane scored twice while Billy Smith was in the sin bin, however Spencer Leniu made a major impact when he was injected into the contest and helped swing the match back into the Roosters' favour.
Two tries while Jack Gosiewski was in the bin ensured Trent Robinson's men entered the break with an eight-point lead. Broncos 12 - Roosters 20

Billy Smith 2nd Try
35th minute: Billy Smith has well and truly made up for his earlier indiscretion, again winning the race to the ball, clutching a James Tedesco grubber out of the air and grounding it inches from the dead ball line to score his second of the night.
The try came after Brisbane spilled the ball in the first set after the kick off and ensured the Roosters capitalised on the extra man. Broncos 12 - Roosters 14
32nd minute: We've just had an eventful few minutes of play, with plenty of action on both ends of the field eventually ending with a Broncos penalty goal. Shortly after Billy Smith returned from the sin bin, Brisbane forward Jack Gosiewski was told to take a 10-minute breather for a high tackle.
Despite losing a man, the Broncos came close to scoring only to spill the ball and Angus Crichton to pounce and race away before charging into Adam Reynolds. The forward was ruled to have illegally raised his elbow and Brisbane took the two points on offer. Broncos 12 - Roosters 8
24th minute: One try has quickly become two for Brisbane, Reece Walsh finishing off a short-side move of their own to put his team in front. The Broncos attacked the edge where Billy Smith would have been defending, Adam Reynolds identifying the numbers and extra space before hitting Jaiyden Hunt with a superb pass. The edge forward charged through a gap and Walsh did the rest. Broncos 10 - Roosters 8

Selwyn Cobbo Try
20th minute: We've just had a couple of big moments in the game, with Billy Smith sent to the sin bin for a high tackle. The penalty handed Brisbane a chance to hit back, however the Roosters edge defence was up to the task and forced an error.
The match has swung since Smith's try, the Roosters turning the ball over and the Broncos benefiting from penalties to gain some field position. A penalty to the visitors, however, relieves the pressure and the Roosters look to be working their way back into attacking field position.

Billy Smith sent to the bin
A short-side play, however, has gone awry, with Selwyn Cobbo plucking a Sandon Smith pass out of the air and racing 50 metres down the field to put his side on the board. Broncos 4 - Roosters 8

Billy Smith Try
15th minute: The Roosters have continued to pile on the pressure and after adding two points with a penalty goal, Billy Smith has continued his remarkable return after more than a year out of the NRL. The centre out jumped Reece Walsh to pluck a bomb out of the air and score the first try of the match.
The visitors have been dominant throughout the opening 15 minutes, playing with freedom and putting the Broncos under pressure. Roosters coach Trent Robinson is pretty happy in the box, sharing a grin with assistant Justin Holbrook. Broncos 0 - Roosters 8
Kickoff: We are underway in front of a big crowd in Brisbane and it's the visitors who have made an impressive start to the contest. The Roosters positive mindset has allowed them to gain the upper hand early and they have been rewarded by forcing the Broncos into errors and ill discipline.
The host's defence, however, was up to the task and they have held firm early to keep the scores level. Broncos 0 - Roosters 0
Late mail: The Broncos will line up 1-17, while just one minor change for the Roosters for this blockbuster at Suncorp Stadium. Salesi Foketi will start at lock and Victor Radley shifts to the bench. Outside back Mark Nawaqanitawase remains in the squad as 18th man but Robinson has resisted the urge to make a late backline reshuffle.

From the field: Dylan Egan
While Shane Flanagan may be disappointed his side conceded a late try, he'll be thrilled with the attacking performance, with both edges firing. There was concern late for Dylan Egan, who left the field in the final minute with an elbow injury. Dragons 38 - Titans 16

AJ Brimson Try
79th minute: We have a late consolation try for the Titans, Jayden Campbell setting the foundation with a piece of individual brilliance. The visitors then kept the ball alive with multiple offloads, fighting through a disjointed defensive line before AJ Brimson finished it off. Dragons 38 - Titans 16

Dylan Egan Try
73rd minute: Dylan Egan has the 8510 fans at WIN Stadium on their feet, the Gerringong junior charging through a gaping hole to score the first try of his NRL career.
The Titans threatened to break through and narrow the gap in the preceding minutes, however the Dragons held firm and they were rewarded for their defensive resolve at the other end of the field. Dragons 38 - Titans 10

Brock Gray sent to the bin
70th minute: The Dragons will be without winger Christian Tuipulotu for the remainder of the contest after he was forced from the field with a hamstring strain.
Tuipulotu scored two tries in the 10th and 43rd minutes to join Brisbane's Jesse Arthars as the NRL's leading tryscorer with seven tries, but his hopes of overtaking the Broncos centre were dashed when he came from the field in the 60th minute.
After going into the dressing room for a medical assessment, a frustrated Tuipulotu returned to the bench with ice on his right hamstring. Dragons 34 - Titans 10

Phillip Sami Try
62nd minute: The Titans have one back, David Fifita making the most of acres of space to run after the Gold Coast regathered a short kickoff. With half the Dragons players on their own try line, Fifita rumbled down the field before Beau Fermor drew the scrambling defence to put Philip Sami over.
Fifita has been one of few bright spots on a disappointing evening for the Titans, the edge forward at his dominant best with ball in hand. Fifita has run for 192m, with one line break, one line break assist and a try assist. He has also broken nine tackles, with 18 minutes left in the game. Dragons 34 - Titans 10

Tyrell Sloan 2nd Try
60th minute: Tyrell Sloan has his second, courtesy of some brilliant skills by Moses Suli. The try came on the back of repeated errors by the Titans, Des Hasler expressing his frustration in the coach's box.
Sloan's try has been soured somewhat, with Christian Tuipulotu limping from the field with a hamstring injury. Dragons 34 - Titans 4
55th minute: Titans coach Des Hasler has turned to his bench, with Allan Fitzgibbon injected into the contest for his NRL debut. The 26-year-old has provided additional starch to the Gold Coast defence and helped his side repel the Dragons attack.
A Moses Suli error then provided the visitors a chance to attack and a grubber gave Brian Kelly a chance to score, however he was unable to ground the ball amid a desperate lunge from Tyrell Sloan. Dragons 28 - Titans 4

Christian Tuipulotu 2nd Try
43rd minute: The Dragons onslaught continues immediately after the break in a horror start to the second half for the Titans. Tuipulotu is in for his second and he hasn't been able to resist the urge to bring back the 'show me the money' celebration. The try came after a superb 20 metre cut out pass by Kyle Flanagan, the five-eighth identifying the space created by the threat of Luciano Leilua and Val Holmes. St George Illawarra have now scored four tries in the space of 11 minutes. Dragons 28 - Titans 4

Kyle Flanagan Try
Half-time: The Saints are marching at WIN Stadium, Leilua and Holmes again combining to lay the platform for a long-range try. Leilua drew a defender to open up a gap, and Holmes duly obliged to charge through. A couple of passes later, Kyle Flanagan was over under the sticks and the Dragons have blown this game open in the period before half-time.
It's a long way back for the Titans, but they had plenty of opportunities to strike in the first half and will have the wind behind their back in the second. A try shortly after the break will give them plenty of confidence and could make for some nervous St George Illawarra fans given their recent woes when defending a second-half lead. Tyrell Sloan Try
36th minute: The final 10 minutes of the first half are proving costly for the visitors, with St George Illawarra capitalising on another Gold Coast error. This time the Dragons attacked the right edge, halves Lachlan Ilias and Kyle Flanagan combining in the middle of the field before Moses Suli created an overlap to make space for Tyrell Sloan to dive over in the corner.
Valentine Holmes is having a night out with the kicking tee, nailing three-straight conversions from out wide. The centre was 1/6 from the sideline heading into the match. The latest was a superb slide that perfectly accounted for the breezy conditions in Wollongong. Dragons 18 - Titans 4.

Valentine Holmes Try
32nd minute: That is one of the best passes you'll see a forward throw this season. Luciano Leilua takes on the line, sums up his options and hits Valentine Holmes on a perfect out line. Leilua had three options, analysed the defence and identified which man to hit. It's hard enough for a halfback to make that read but for a forward to do it is even more impressive.
The try came after an extended arm wrestle, with both teams generating attacking opportunities. The Titans had multiple repeat sets in the red zone, but were unable to break through and were left to rue their inability to secure a line drop out. St George Illawarra capitalised on the error and extended their lead. Dragons 12 - Titans 4

Brian Kelly Try
18th minute: The Dragons have been on song early but an error in their own half opened the door for the Titans and they didn't need a second invitation. David Fifita has been at his physical best throughout the opening 20 minutes and another powerful carry saw him bend the defensive line before offloading to Brian Kelly for a try.
The Queensland representative has engaged in an entertaining one-on-one battle with fellow Maroons forward Jaydn Su'A, the pair dominant with ball in hand in an attempt to one-up their opposite man. Dragons 6 - Titans 4

Christian Tuipulotu Try
10th minute: The money man Christian Tuipuloto has the first try of the game and while his trademark 'show me the money' celebration has been shelved for the time being, the Dragons winger has produced another exuberant celebration just a day after inking a contract extension with the club.
The try came a couple of minutes after the Titans thought they had opened the scoring, only for the Bunker to step in and rule Reagan Campbell-Gillard had spilled the ball in the lead up. Dragons 6 - Titans 0
Kick-off: We are underway at a windy WIN Stadium, with both sides desperate to get back on track after last-start losses. The Titans are determined to prove they can win without inspirational captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, while the Dragons have carried the disappointment of a golden-point loss to the Eels throughout the week.
History is against the Gold Coast, with the Titans still searching for their first victory in Wollongong.

S.Flanagan: We're a bit short in the middle right now
Late mail: Gameday reshuffles for both sides, with Dylan Egan and Luciano Leilua trading places for the Dragons. Egan will now start at second row, with Luciano to commence the game on the interchange.
It's a bigger change for the Titans after Jojo Fifita was ruled out of the clash with a corked thigh. Debutant Allan Fitzgibbon was added to the starting side on Thursday night but has now reverted to the bench. Coach Des Hasler has instead reverted to the same back row-centre-wing combination he used last week, with Phil Sami on the wing, Beau Fermor at centre and David Fifita in the back row.
