Round 6 sees a couple of intriguing positional switches for Fantasy relevant players, while the game's top cash cow is missing in action and has left coaches with a tough decision to make.

Looking over all the Fantasy-relevant news from the teams named for Round 6 of the NRL Telstra Premiership season.

NRL Fantasy teams analysis: Round 6

Dolphins v Panthers, Thursday at Suncorp Stadium

Dolphins: Tom Gilbert returns from suspension but has been named in the second row rather than at lock. That makes Gilbert a likely sell for those who didn't offload him last week, while it puts Max Plath – who gets the start at lock instead – – back in the frame to be one of the best performing HOK eligible players in the game. Daniel Saifiti has quietly emerged as an underpriced keeper candidate at MID, with three-straight scores over 50 now, including last week's monster 79.

Panthers: Dylan Edwards (groin) is named to return to action, which means Daine Laurie, who was probably only relevant in Draft leagues anyway, reverts to being 18th man. Popular cheapie Jack Cole misses this week after picking up a head knock, but he's a hold and has a break even of only 15 when he does get back to the field. Blaize Talagi takes his spot at five-eighth, but at this stage appears only a stop-gap measure. Thomas Jenkins (WFB, $347k) is proving a handy little pickup for coaches and he's set for another decent price rise in Round 6 too.

Dragons v Titans, Friday at WIN Stadium

Dragons: Cheapie MID Dylan Egan has now scored exactly 46 points in his two outings off the bench and is looking like a player who might be able to replicate it on the regular given he's achieving it off base stats only. At $312k there's value there if you think he can hold his spot. Toby Couchman (MID/EDG, $648k) has now shown enough to suggest he's a keeper, with that DPP status and price tag making him an attractive option heading into this Friday's match. Clinton Gutherson now has two scores of 67 or above in four games and is an intriguing POD prospect at WFB, with only two percent ownership.

Titans: The return of Jojo Fifita is great news for Beau Fermor owners, with the previously high-achieving EDG now able to move back into the pack after scoring a measly 20 in the centres last week. David Fifita had a 50 in Round 5 but still hasn't shown enough to suggest he's going to be a keeper at EDG, while Tino Fa'asuamaleaui also remains on the fringe, with a season average of 54.3, but two scores under 43 mixed in there.

Broncos v Roosters, Friday at Suncorp Stadium

Broncos: For the first time this season Payne Haas owners are having to question whether he is the best pick as captain this week, following on from a 42 which came after he had his minutes slashed to 51 against the Wests Tigers. Xavier Willison went big last week and registered 59, but with so many quality forwards in this Brisbane rotation his scores will remain hit and miss. On the back of a last up 31 – which was his fourth score under 40 in five games so far – Reece Walsh (WFB, $488k) has now dropped a staggering $212k in price. With a break even of 51 in Round 6, there's every chance he's even cheaper next week.

Roosters: With scores over 50 in four of his five games this season, it's safe to call Siua Wong an EDG keeper. At $589k he's a pretty cheap one as well. Cash cow CTR Robert Toia continues to track nicely towards hitting $200k in value gained through the first five rounds, while fellow cheapie Mark Nawaqanitawase has been left as 18th man for the time being after missing last week with a calf complaint. Basement-priced HLF Hugo Savala has unseated Chad Townsend in the No.7 jersey and could be a nice money maker while Sam Walker (ACL recovery) remains out of action.

Sharks v Sea Eagles, Saturday at Optus Stadium, Perth

Sharks: Cheapie WFB Mawene Hiroti has the attention of Fantasy coaches after producing a powerful 65-point showing in his first game as Kayal Iro's replacement in the centres. With Iro expected back around Round 9, Hiroti might not have enough runway to be a worthwhile money maker in Classic leagues, but he's a great pickup in Draft if he's still among your free agents. Two tries propelled Briton Nikora to 59 points in Round 5, but in general he doesn't look like being the keeper prospect he's been in past.

Sea Eagles: Manly's second most popular player, Haumole Olakau'atu hit top gear on his way to a 59 in Round 5. If the $647k EDG can start to string it together consistently then he's a great shout as one of the top players in his position. CTR/EDG Ben Trbojevic is averaging 37.7 across the season, which is almost enough to make him a keeper at CTR for the first part of the season. The Sea Eagles mostly failed to impress on the Fantasy front last week, with just two players managing over 50 points.

Rabbitohs v Cowboys, Saturday at Optus Stadium, Perth

Rabbitohs: Owners have a big call to make on cash cow sensation Jamie Humphreys, following confirmation he will likely miss a month with a hamstring injury. His absence this week, coupled with that of Cody Walker (also hamstring), means Latrell Mitchell (WFB, $784k) gets a run closer to the action at five-eighth, after registering 47 in the centres last up. $364k MID Lachlan Hubner knocked his break even back down to -3 by scoring 46 in his return from suspension.

Cowboys: Jake Clifford remains well and truly underpriced at $630k, with his 60+ average for the season continuing on the back of a 59 in Round 5. CTR Jaxon Purdue, who is owned by 28 percent of all teams, is starting to really perform now and will make money again this week after scoring 61 against the Panthers. John Bateman crashed back to earth with a 34 last week and is probably a sell within the next fortnight.

Eels v Raiders, Saturday at TIO Stadium, Darwin

Eels: Round 5 delivered a long-awaited breakout game for Isaiah Iongi, with a 59-point showing putting him back on track to make some money after a string of underwhelming scores for the struggling Blue and Gold. There's now serious value in Kitione Kautoga ($368k), who has a last three game average of 42 and is CTR eligible but starting in the pack. Cheapie HOK Ryley Smith starts after racking up 66 minutes against the Dragons and scoring 35 points.

Raiders: Money maker Matty Nicholson put in another brilliant showing to record 74 points last week, placing him just behind teammate and fellow edge Hudson Young (76). Joseph Tapine's 86 will have caught the attention of plenty of coaches, with the $731k MID a potential POD who is still only owned by 2.15 percent of teams. Owen Pattie continues to be a slow burner at HOK, but after 35 points last week he's on track to make money again in Round 6.

Storm v Warriors, Sunday at AAMI Park

Storm: A big relief for the 18 percent who own Ryan Papenhuyzen, with the WFB named to start despite an injury scare in Round 5. Cameron Munster had his best outing of the year on the Fantasy front and finished with 55, while EDG Eliesa Katoa was excellent again and had 63. Even in a free-flowing game in which the Storm racked up plenty of points, Harry Grant still only managed 41.

Warriors: With their first bye now out of the way, high-performing HOK Wayde Egan may become a popular trade-in target, having averaged an impressive 58.3 through the season so far to sit as his position's top-ranked player. The club's most-popular Fantasy player, Luke Metcalf (HLF, $485k), looks very much like being a rocks or diamonds prospect in terms of scores.

Knights v Wests Tigers, Sunday at McDonald Jones Stadium

Knights: With Jack Cogger (finger) sidelined this week, usual hooker Phoenix Crossland gets a run in the halves. It's possible that means even more work in attacking territory for Kalyn Ponga and Fletcher Sharpe, who both come off very quiet games against the Bulldogs. EDG Thomas Cant continues to star in place of the injured Dylan Lucas, with last week's 50 meaning he's already closing in on $100k in value gained after just two appearances.

Wests Tigers: Expect plenty to lean on Terrell May as captain this week after being spooked by Payne Haas' 42 in Round 5. Star To'a is now owned by almost 20 percent of teams and is showing himself to be a keeper-level CTR option. We have seen enough of Jack Bird at this point to know he's not going to present value in a Fantasy sense, but at $346k he may not have enough value to make him worth a trade out anyway. Popular pre-season pick up Royce Hunt is a very good chance of falling below starting rookie price this week after managing just 11 against the Broncos.
