Bulldogs: Classy outside back Jacob Kiraz has been cleared to make his return from a hip injury and will feature in his first match of the season. Blake Wilson drops out as a result. Kurtis Morrin drops off the bench after being named in place of the suspended Sitili Tupouniua, with Blake Taafe taking his place. Lipoi Hopoi is the 18th man. Viliame Kikau and Matt Burton remain a week away and will wait until after the team's bye before coming back from knee injuries. Kurt Mann is also on the interchange and will play his 200th NRL game.

Knights: Leo Thompson is set to make his return from a knee injury against the team he will join next season. The prop suffered the injury in Round 2 and missed the loss to the Titans before last week's bye. Brodie Jones has shifted to 18th man as a result. No changes to the Knights in the final team update, with Newcastle to line up 1-17.
