Over a third of all Fantasy teams will be boosted by the return of Nathan Cleary in Round 5, while Wayne Bennett has made a massive call in the backline which changes the game for Jye Gray owners.
It looks like a good week to move for some cut-price keepers, while injuries to a handful of fairly popular players will force trades as well.
NRL Fantasy teams analysis: Round 5
Raiders v Sharks, Thursday at GIO Stadium
Raiders: The return of Morgan Smithies on the bench could result in a slight reduction in minutes for the likes of Corey Horsburgh this week, but it shouldn't be a major concern for owners. Powerful winger Savelio Tamale comes off a 50-point outing which has knocked his break even back down to 16, and with Albert Hopoate now ruled out for the season he's a keeper with good job security. It's danger time again for Owen Pattie owners though as he faces a break even of 14.
Sharks: In-form CTR Kayal Iro is laid up with a hamstring injury (timeframe still TBC), which means Mawene Hiroti comes into the side. Iro had been arguably the best POD in the game for a couple of rounds, but the nature of his injury means he's unlikely to return in the next couple of weeks and is therefore probably a sell. Cameron McInnes and Addin Fonua-Blake were among the top MIDs in Round 4 with scores of 74 and 68 respectively. Siosifa Talakai misses this game after entering the NRL concussion protocol.

Panthers v Cowboys, Friday at CommBank Stadium
Panthers: Nathan Cleary owners (all 81k of them) can breathe a sigh of relief after the star HLF was named to make his return from concussion. His presence in the team means another 60+ score from halves partner Jack Cole is unlikely, but those who stuck with him can look forward to a couple more weeks of price rises thanks to his break even now sitting at -9. Thomas Jenkins went big with a 53 and his job security suddenly looks a whole lot better following the loss of Brian To'o to a hamstring injury. At $297k this week, he's an intriguing trade in prospect.
Cowboys: Jake Clifford is tracking to be a possible cut-price keeper at HLF after hitting 72 last week (albeit helped by two tries). A 54 the week earlier leaves him with a two-game average of 63 and at $584k he's a steal if he can maintain anything close to that. John Bateman bounced back to form with a 61 which came despite the English EDG still racking up -14 points in demerits.

Rabbitohs v Roosters, Saturday at Accor Stadium
Rabbitohs: Huge news for Jye Gray owners, with the $590k HLF/WFB keeping his role at fullback and Latrell Mitchell named to play in the centres. It means Mitchell is a stay away, while Gray now has a path to being a keeper at WFB. Popular cheapie Lachlan Hubner comes straight back into the starting side after serving his suspension. Jamie Humphreys continues to excel and at this point is no longer merely a cash cow, but a keeper at HLF.
Roosters: High-performing HOK/MID Connor Watson is back from a week out with concussion, with owners now hoping the return of some other big-name middles at the Roosters won't result in a reduction in minutes or workload. Sandon Smith (HLF, $380k) looks like he has just about levelled out in value, but I'd be tempted to stick with him given the potential for a 40+ score if he can get over for what would be his third try in five games this season. Both the club's cash cow CTRs, Mark Nawaqanitawase and Robert Toia, have reachable break evens of 17.

Eels v Dragons, Saturday at CommBank Stadium
Eels: Starting back-rower Kitione Kautoga (CTR/EDG, $320k) is a good trade target this week thanks to that CTR designation. As it stands he's sitting in close to 11 percent of teams. New recruit Dylan Walker poses a threat to J'maine Hopgood's minutes on the bench, but for now owners should hold and hope for the best. Isaiah Iongi is what he is at this point and if you want to make use of the small gains he's made then he's probably a sell either this week or next.
Dragons: There's going to be plenty of interest in bench forward Dylan Egan following his 46-point showing in a 49-minute stint last week. Emre Guler's three-game suspension should help ensure he keeps a prominent role for a few more weeks, but long-term that's likely to change, especially as David Klemmer finds his feet at his new club. MID/EDG Toby Couchman continues to track as a cheapie keeper after a 48 in Round 4 and he is another player who will benefit from Guler's absence.

Titans v Dolphins, Saturday at Cbus Super Stadium
Titans: Jayden Campbell was involved in just about everything good the Gold Coast did last week and with a season average of 63.7 through three games he looks a great WFB addition, although he's getting pricey now at $755k. CTR-eligible forward Beau Fermor has been a good pick up for those who grabbed him after Round 2, with his season average sitting at a neat 60. Jaylan De Groot played well last week but was a flop in a Fantasy sense due to his lack of involvement. He might struggle to improve that while players like Campbell and AJ Brimson are on the field, but owners will just need to hope for a try or a couple of assists this week which could set him up to make some money.
Dolphins: Tom Gilbert's one-game suspension is great news for Max Plath owners, with the $669k DPP set to benefit from a move back to the middle of the park. Plath is a strong contender to be the top HOK eligible player in Round 5 now. For Gilbert owners, now might present the perfect opportunity to move off him after an underwhelming start to 2025 which has seen him average 46 points. Herbie Farnworth hasn't scored under 50 all year, despite crossing for only one try so far, and is about as good as they come in terms of CTRs right now.

Broncos v Wests Tigers, Saturday at Suncorp Stadium
Broncos: Another big performance in Round 5 will see Payne Haas become the first player to enter the $1m price bracket this year, and with a season average that still sits at 84.8 after four rounds, you'd be a fool to bet against him doing just that. Gehamat Shibasaki starred with a 60 after seeing off Deine Mariner for the vacant centre spot at the Broncos last week and he's still good value at only $420k if you think he can stay in the backline long term. Jack Gosiewski's minutes shot way back up to 72 last week and his score of 38 was his best since Round 1. With Jordan Riki out suspended for the next two weeks he should have a more prominent role, so he's one to hold onto for now and can probably be put in your scoring 17 if you don't have an obvious better option.
Wests Tigers: Terrell May comes face-to-face with the Payne Haas, the only man who sits between him and being Fantasy's top MID through the opening month of 2025. May put in a mammoth effort to play the full 80 minutes last week and recorded 85 points as a result. At $386k Star To'a looks like a really good cut-price option at CTR and this week he may be a good trade out for his teammate Jack Bird, who has failed to impress and has a season average of 25.5. Popular HLF Jarome Luai will miss only one week through suspension, but he should be sold anyway after averaging 31.5 through the opening few rounds.

Sea Eagles v Storm, Sunday at 4 Pines Park
Sea Eagles: Lehi Hopoate should have a nice four-game run at fullback now with Tom Trbojevic (knee) out injured and not expected back until after the club's Round 9 bye. In saying that, Hopoate's one go at the back this year resulted in a season-low score of 29. Haumole Olakau'atu is a bit of a frustrating player in Fantasy this year - he's hugely damaging on the ball and heavily targeted, but it's only translated to a season average of 47.3 so far.
Storm: HOK Harry Grant might have just about bottomed out in price at $666k and he comes off a season-best 57 in Round 4. The impending return of Jahrome Hughes on the bench only adds to the argument for parting ways with Cameron Munster this week, with the Queenslander simply not hitting keeper scores so far and managing over 40 just once. EDG Eliesa Katoa remains a decent point of difference option and is available at $708k.

Bulldogs v Knights, Sunday at Accor Stadium
Bulldogs: Jacob Kiraz is nearing a return from a hip injury after being included in the wider squad for Round 5, with Blake Wilson and Marcelo Montoya the likely players to make way if and when that happens. There will be plenty of interest in EDG Jacob Preston after his 77 last week and at $707k he's still undervalued. Toby Sexton (HLF, $535k) should benefit from another week as the chief playmaker in Matt Burton's absence.
Knights: The return to action for Newcastle this week significantly boosts the competition's WFB stocks, with both Kalyn Ponga and Fletcher Sharpe in the elite-tier conversation for that position. Thomas Cant (EDG, $503k) retains a starting back-row spot after his 76-point showing in Round 3, while Bradman Best is also on fire and has a 77 and 67 in his last two appearances.
