Roosters: James Tedesco leads a new-look Roosters side that includes debutant Robert Toia in the centres alongside Mark Nawaqawitanase in just his second NRL game. Nawaqawitanase has recovered from a calf injury suffered in the final trial game against the Knights. Experienced playmaker Chad Townsend plays his first game as a Rooster in the No.7 jersey, partnering Sandon Smith in the halves. In the forwards Naufahu Whyte steps up to fill the boots of club legend Jared Waerea-Hargreaves after coming off the bench in 16 of his 23 games last year. The bench includes 20-year-old back-rower Salesi Foketi on NRL debut and teenager Blake Steep in his fourth career game.
Broncos: Coach Michael Maguire has unveiled a new-look team to launch his first season in charge of the Broncos. Cory Paix has won the starting hooker role after an impressive pre-season and will play his first NRL game since Round 27, 2023, with Billy Walters to come from the bench. In a remarkable return, former Bronco Gehamat Shibasaki – who originally re-joined the club on a train-and-replace deal before being upgraded to a development contract – will partner Deine Mariner in the centres, with Kotoni Staggs (quad) sidelined. Pat Carrigan moves to prop with Kobe Hetherington starting at lock, while Jack Gosiewski, who missed the back end of last season with a broken arm, starts in the second row ahead of Brendan Piakura, who will come from the bench.

Wests Tigers: Jarome Luai makes his first appearance in Tigers colours and will captain the side in the absence of Api Koroisau (suspension). Star fullback Jahream Bula is also sidelined so Heath Mason gets the job in the No.1. Another Panthers premiership winner, Sunia Turuva, makes his club debut on the wing while Terrell May, Jack Bird, Jeral Skelton and Royce Hunt all make their first NRL appearance in Tigers colours. After 70 games in Queensland Cup across seven seasons, hooker Tristan Hope is rewarded for his perseverance with an NRL debut off the bench.
Knights: Former Raider James Schiller makes his club debut on the wing while young gun Fletcher Sharpe gets the nod in the No.6 after some impressive trial form and will partner Jack Cogger in the halves. After finishing last season at halfback Phoenix Crossland goes to hooker and Jayden Brailey to the bench. The forward pack is strong with Jacob Saifiti and Leo Thompson the props and Kai Pearce-Paul, Dylan Lucas and Tyson Frizell forming a dynamic back row. Veterans Jackson Hastings and Adam Elliott are among the reserves.

Update: In official news announced on Tuesday afternoon, the venue for Friday night's game has shifted to CommBank Stadium due to the impact of Cyclone Alfred in south-east Queensland. The Round 17 match between the Dolphins and the Rabbitohs will now become a Dolphins home fixture.
Rabbitohs: A massive boost for the Bunnies with Campbell Graham overcoming a hand injury to return ahead of schedule while prop Junior Tatola (foot) is also good to go. Jye Gray will wear the No.1 jersey in Latrell Mitchell's absence, with Isaiah Taas and Tyrone Munro on the wings. Jamie Humphreys teams with skipper Cody Walker in the halves while Peter Mamouzelos is the hooker. Former Dolphin Lachlan Hubner makes his club debut at lock and ex-Tiger Jayden Sullivan has won a bench spot alongside Tallis Duncan, Siliva Havili and Tatola.
Dolphins: Kristian Woolf has named newly-appointed captain Tom Gilbert to make his long-awaited return at lock, with Max Plath starting in the second row alongside new signing Kulikefu Finefeuiaki. Team vice-captain Felise Kaufusi completes his move into the middle, partnering another new signing in Daniel Saifiti at prop. Junior Tupuo will also make his first club appearance on the wing, with season 2024 Dally M rookie of the year Jack Bostock sidelined with a knee injury. After an impressive pre-season that has come off the back of some strong performances for Fiji in the Pacific Championships, the versatile Kurt Donoghoe has been named on the bench.

Jake Simpkin is the back-up hooker, joined on the bench by a trio of big men in Corey Waddell, Ethan Bullemor and Toafofoa Sipley.
Cowboys: Young gun Tom Duffy is set to make his NRL debut and will partner with Tom Dearden in the halves. With stalwarts Kyle Feldt and Valentine Holmes departing the club, Braidon Burns has been named on the wing after coach Todd Payten praised his composure under the high ball, with youngster Jaxon Purdue – who impressed in his limited opportunities last season – winning the vacant centre spot. New signing John Bateman comes straight into the starting second row position, with Heilum Luki out for the season, while fellow club newcomer Karl Lawton will come from the bench as a utility. Jason Taumalolo, who is recovering from a Lisfranc injury, has been named amongst the reserves.
