The National Rugby League (NRL) will acknowledge 18 retiring players ahead of the NRL Telstra Premiership 2024 Grand Final between Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers.
The list of players who will attend on Grand Final Day to be acknowledged includes 300-game players, Premiership winners and Test superstars.
The players who will be acknowledged are:
- Jesse Bromwich, Edrick Lee (Dolphins)
- Dale Finucane, Wade Graham (Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks)
- Shaun Johnson (New Zealand Warriors)
- Nathan Peats, Karina Brown (Gold Coast Titans)
- Kevin Naiqama, Zane Tetevano, Dylan Napa (Sydney Roosters)
- Dean Whare, Tyrone Peachey (Penrith Panthers)
- Chris McQueen (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
- Ava Seumanufagai (West Tigers)
- Hymel Hunt (Newcastle Knights)
- Tautau Moga (St George Illawarra Dragons)
- Aaron Woods and Brad Parker (Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles).
“Grand Final Day is a massive day for Rugby League and an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate the careers of players retiring from the game,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said.
“The retiring players tribute is one of the great traditions of Grand Final Day, acknowledging the unique contribution that each player and their families have made over many years.
“On behalf of the game, I thank and congratulate them. We all wish them success in the next chapter of their careers.”
Gates will open at Accor Stadium at 1.00pm. Fans are encouraged to use public transport with free (via integrated ticketing) public transport for the event at Accor Stadium.
Fans are encouraged to plan ahead, arrive early and enjoy the NRL State Championship Grand Final at 1.20pm, the NRL Women’s Telstra Premiership Grand Final at 3.55pm as well as local venues, pubs, restaurants and local parklands.
The Grand Final Week, NRL and NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Finals are proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination New South Wales.
With a capacity crowd on the way, fans are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the fact all tickets include travel on Public Transport to and from Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park, including via Sydney Trains and Major Event Buses.
If fans intend to drive, they must pre-book parking as parking stations in Sydney Olympic Park will fill quickly.
Fans should arrive early in the Olympic Park precinct to avoid queues and leave additional time for the Stadium Entry Process.
