Penrith's Scott Sorensen is out to prove his fitness for Saturday's preliminary final as he looks to overcome a hamstring injury.

The forward sat out his side's qualifying final win over the Roosters a fortnight ago and he's eager to return for this week's clash with the Sharks.

Storm v Roosters, Friday 7.50pm at AAMI Park

Storm: Livewire utility Sua Fa'alogo has recovered from the hamstring injury that ruled him out of the qualifying final against the Roosters but hasn't been able to force his way into an unchanged team. He will line up for Norths in the NSW Cup grand final against Newtown. Grant Anderson and Lazarus Vaalepu were retained in the squad when it was trimmed 24 hours before kick-off.

Roosters: Coach Trent Robinson sticks with the same squad that downed the Sea Eagles so impressively. Victor Radley is again named to start as he manages the pain of a fractured scapula. No changes in Thursday's 24-hour update with Siua Wong and 18th man Zach Dockar-Clay retained in the squad.

Panthers v Sharks, Saturday 7.50pm at Accor Stadium

Panthers: Scott Sorensen is racing the clock to overcome a hamstring injury and has been named in the extended squad. The forward was a late withdrawal from his side's week one win over the Roosters and coach Ivan Cleary said on Thursday that the back-rower "has done everything so far and there have been no setbacks". Luke Garner was named in the starting side but would likely shift back to the bench if Sorensen comes into the team.

Sharks: Coach Craig Fitzgibbon told media on Friday that centre Jesse Ramien (ankle) was 'up against it' in his bid to take the field on Saturday night. "He did a really good job to get himself ready and play last week and that's the risk you're looking at in the same scenario this week," Fitzgibbon said. The coach confirmed that Kayal Iro was good to go despite battling a slight wrist injury in recent weeks. Should Ramien drop out, Siosifa Talakai will move to the centres and Daniel Atkinson will come on to the bench.
