The return of a handful of popular Fantasy players goes some way to offsetting a spate of final-round injuries which will cruel teams this week.

With most coaches down to their final trade at this point (if they're lucky enough to have one left) there's a couple of point of difference options around, as the last of the head-to-head grand finals take place and the final opportunity to leap up the overall charts arrives.

NRL Fantasy teams analysis: Round 27

Broncos v Storm, Thursday at Suncorp Stadium

Broncos: With their finals hopes now dashed Payne Haas has been left out of the squad on the back of his 91-point heroics in Round 26. That puts Patrick Carrigan right back into the captaincy conversation this week after he had 61 last-up. Reece Walsh is included in the reserves, but those with Tristan Sailor shouldn't panic just yet.

Storm: Their Fantasy big guns who were rested last week return to action, with Harry Grant (26 percent ownership) and Jahrome Hughes (16 percent ownership) particularly big inclusions. Ryan Papenhuyzen is out injured which means a start for Sua Faalogo (WFB, $376k) at fullback. Tyran Wishart goes back to the bench after another stunning display last week which ended in him scoring 93.

Wests Tigers v Eels, Friday at Campbelltown Sports Stadium

Wests Tigers: Fresh off a bye last week Lachlan Galvin will be a key HLF for coaches to close out the season, with his 57.3 L3 average making him the fourth-best player available in that position on form. If you think Isaiah Papali'i will have a big game then he's a POD option to end the year who sits in less than one percent of teams.

Eels: Kelma Tuilagi's return to the side moves Shaun Lane back to prop after he had 59 last week. Dylan Brown, who sits in over eight percent of teams, equaled his season-best score of 77 last week, while Clint Gutherson had another score in the 50s.

Rabbitohs v Roosters, Friday at Accor Stadium

Rabbitohs: It's fair to say things didn't go as many of us had predicted for Keaon Koloamatangi last week, as the $682k DPP limped to a score of 23 despite the absence of Cameron Murray in the South Sydney pack. He's named on the edge this week too with Tallis Duncan the lock. Damien Cook has been a mid 50s player by average over his past three games which is a decent output for a HOK right now. Jack Wighton misses their final game due to a calf injury, which brings Dean Hawkins back into the frame.

Roosters: In the absence of Sam Walker (knee) it's easy to see James Tedesco stepping up his involvement even more this week and as a result he's a really good captaincy choice. 'teddy' had 62 last week which matches his L3 average. A move to hooker for Connor Watson (MID/HOK, $586k) should so his scores some good.

Dragons v Raiders, Saturday at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium

Dragons: Being involved in a game in which their team scored 40 points last week helped plenty of Red V players in Fantasy, but outside of Zac Lomax (who had 63) it's hard to see them repeating it in Round 27. Lomax is the Dragons' only selected player this week who sits in over 10 percent of teams and he could be a key weapon for coaches in the final week of regular season action.

Raiders: The return of Ethan Strange is huge news for coaches struggling to field two green dots at CTR right now, while Canberra's most popular player, Kaeo Weekes, returns to fullback in place of the injured Jordan Rapana. EDG Hudson Young is in good form and has a L3 average of 62.

Bulldogs v Cowboys, Saturday at Accor Stadium

Bulldogs: The loss of Matt Burton (concussion) is a major blow for his owners given the way he'd been travelling through the back part of the year. A try-scoring double propelled Reed Mahoney to his first >40 score since Round 20 last week, but he's still not someone I'd be totally comfortable relying on in my 17 right now. Jacob Kiraz, who sits in 11 percent of teams, remains in the centres due to Bronson Xerri missing the game through suspension.

Cowboys: Round 26 was a week to forget for North Queensland in Fantasy, with none of their players managing a score over 50. There's a roadmap for Reuben Cotter to have a big game this week though against an undersized Bulldogs pack, while Valentine Holmes remains one of the highest-ceiling CTR options around.

Panthers v Titans, Saturday at Penrith Park

Panthers: Issah Yeo continued his excellent run in Fantasy with a third-straight score in the 80s in the Round 26 win over the Rabbitohs. He is the safest captaincy option around this week but will also be by far the most commonly picked captain after being selected to get double points by almost 16 percent of teams last up. Jarome Luai had 64 last week in the absence of Nathan Cleary and is a POD option at HLF who currently sits in 3.7 percent of teams.

Titans: With their season over after this week the Gold Coast have made the decision to get David Fifita in for ankle surgery, which in Fantasy means the top EDG by average, and the second-most owned one at 25.4 percent, is out of action. Keano Kini comes back into the line-up to finish off a breakout season in Fantasy in which he's climbed $372k in value. WFB/HLF Jayden Campbell has an L3 average of 60.

Sea Eagles v Sharks, Sunday at 4 Pines Park

Sea Eagles: With Tom Trbojevic out injured Tolu Koula gets a run at fullback. Younger brother Ben Trbojevic is set to return to the line-up after being 18th man last week, but you don't want him in your scoring 17 unless you absolutely have to. Reuben Garrick, who is in a quarter of all Fantasy teams, comes off a last-up 66.

Sharks: It was an unhappy night for the Sharks on the field as they got beaten on the buzzer by the Warriors, and there wasn't much to like about them in Fantasy either, outside of Cameron McInnes who had 60. While he's still highly owned, many will be hoping Nicho Hynes has another quiet day at the office as it'll set him up with a lower price tag for 2025. Hynes had 33 in 80 minutes last week in his return from injury.

Knights v Dolphins, Sunday at McDonald Jones Stadium

Knights: Kalyn Ponga was huge on his way to 76 in Round 26 and he's a good POD captaincy choice again this week for those who need to go in a different direction to the pack. Coaches who held onto Fetcher Sharpe have been rewarded with some good performances at the back end of the year, with his three-try showing leading to a 69 last week. Dylan Lucas shapes as a very good CTR pick after being named in the second row.

Dolphins: Herbie Farnworth is in a purple patch in Fantasy and boasts a whopping 71-point average over his past five games. His usual centre partner Jake Averillo is named in the halves again despite Kodi Nikorima returning from concussion (via the bench for now). Trai Fuller is the fullback, with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow set to run in the centres again after hitting 71 against the Broncos last Saturday.
