Knights: The Knights will begin their title defence with new coach Ben Jeffries naming a strong side for the 2024 season opener. Headlined by superstar fullback Tamika Upton, Blues Origin representatives Olivia Higgins, Caitlan Johnston-Green and Yasmin Clydsdale help form a formidable forward pack. Newcastle favourites the Southwell sisters Jesse and captain Hannah will also run out for the clash.

Roosters: Captain Isabelle Kelly has been named at fullback for the Tri-Colours after the club were dealt a cruel blow with Corban Baxter ruled out for the season after rupturing her ACL and tearing her lateral meniscus in their pre-season trial. Jasmin Strange will join Jess Sergis as the club's centre pairing. After playing as five-eighth last season, Maroons half Tarryn Aiken has been named at halfback, with Jayme Fressard her five-eighth partner. Samantha Bremner, who came out of retirement this week to help add depth to the squad, has been named in the reserves.

Sharks: Cronulla have named a star-studded line-up for their season opener, with young gun Jada Taylor at fullback and Blues custodian Emma Tonegato pairing with Tayla Preston to help direct the side at five-eighth. New signing from Norths Devils Georgia Hannaway has been named on the interchange bench, with the former rugby sevens talent helping guide her BMD Premiership side to the grand final this year. International and State of Origin centre Tiana Penitani will again captain the side after serving in the role in their inaugural season last year.

Cowboys: Off-season recruit Jakiya Whitfeld will start in the centres for her first official game for the Cowboys, after last year claiming NRLW Dally M Winger of the Year honours. New coach Rick Henry has named English star Francesca Goldthorp to reprise her role as fullback after injury cut short her season last year. The Kiwi Ferns coach has also had the luxury of naming a number of players involved in the recent State of Origin series, with Blues squad member Kirra Dibb named as halfback, alongside Queensland series winners Emma Manzelmann at hooker and Makenzie Weale at prop. Broncos: With five-eighth Gayle Broughton still sidelined with a back complaint, Skyla Adams has been named to make her NRLW debut, partnering with skipper Ali Brigginshaw in the halves. Adams was part of the senior Maroons squad this year and also played in the Under 19 Origin for Queensland. Winger Bree Spreadborough, who was signed from the Central Queensland Capras, will also make her debut. Lock Keilee Joseph will play her first game for Brisbane after signing from the Roosters in the off-season.

Eels: New coach Steve Georgallis has named a strong side for his first official NRLW game in charge, with PNG powerhouse Elsie Albert named as starting prop after injury woes saw her only feature in one match last year. New captain Mahalia Murphy will line up in the second row, with deputy Abbi Church in the No.1 jersey. New South Wales Origin representative Rachael Pearson will guide the side as halfback while Georgallis has also handed out a number of NRLW debuts, with plenty of eyes set to be on New Zealand Black Fern and Super Rugby player Rosie Kelly who has been named in the centres.

Dragons: Coach Jamie Soward has rewarded the good form of his youngsters and handed out a number of NRL debuts, headlined by New South Wales Under 19 Origin star Kasey Reh. The young halfback was voted player of the match in the 46-4 win and has been named in the interchange bench alongside fellow young gun Bronte Wilson. One of the most capped players in the NRLW, Steph Hancock has returned to the club and has been named on the bench, while Kiwi Ferns star Raecene McGregor will captain the side as halfback.

Titans: Highly-rated youngster Lily-Rose Kolc has been named to make her NRLW debut after being named on the bench by coach Karyn Murphy. The Tweed Seagulls hooker was elevated to the top 24 roster earlier this year. Rilee Jorgensen (interchange) and Emily Bass (wing) - who both recently missed out on Queensland representative games due to injury - have made their recoveries and have been named to face the Dragons. Maroons hooker Lauren Brown, who starred for Queensland as they claimed the inaugural three-game State of Origin series, will line up as halfback for the season opener.

Wests Tigers: Co-captains Botille Vette-Welsh and Kezie Apps will provide the experience for a Tigers side that will see three players make their NRLW debut, including off-season recruits Natasha Penitani and Shaianne McGlone. Harmony Crichton has also been named to play her first NRLW game on the wing. The 19-year-old sister of NSW Origin star Stephen has progressed through Wests Tigers pathways, playing in the Tarsha Gale Cup and NSW Women’s Premiership competitions. Forward Tara Reinke will make her Wests Tigers debut against her former club after making the move in the off-season.

Raiders: The Raiders just missed out on a finals berth in their debut season last year and have kept the core of that building squad together for season 2024. Both inaugural season co-captains Simaima Taufa (lock) and Zahara Temara (five-eighth) have been named and bring plenty of experience to the side. Temara was part of Queensland's successful Origin squad, while prop Sophie Holyman and interchange forward Grace Kemp were also involved in this year's series. Fiji Bulikula representative Sereana Naitokatoka, who played nine games with the Eels last season, has been named on the interchange.
