Blues fullback Dylan Edwards produced one of the finest performances of his career to claim player of the match honours in Origin Three at Suncorp Stadium.

After the disappointment of being a late withdrawal from the series opener with a quad injury, Edwards returned in Melbourne with a strong display before running for 242 metres and breaking seven tackles in the Blues' 14-4 win in Game Three.

In an epic Origin clash in front of a heaving Suncorp crowd, Edwards had 27 runs and was rock solid all night under the high ball as the Blues won a decider in Brisbane for just the third time in Origin history.

"We had a great bunch of boys who really ripped in tonight, came here to do our state proud and our families proud and I hope we did that," Edwards told Channel Nine post-match.

Maroons v Blues – Game 3, 2024

"We got a couple of tries late but the scoreline for a lot of that was really tight and no team was giving an inch.

"I thought both teams played it in the Origin spirit with a lot of intensity but believing in the long game and believing in each other got us home."

Edwards now has an Origin series win to go with the three premierships he has won with the Panthers and his Clive Churchill Medal from the 2022 decider.
