No doubting Dave: The best Fantasy captains for Round 16

In the absence of many of the top players in the game due to byes and Origin selection, a rested David Fifita is primed to own Round 16 in NRL Fantasy.

The Titans powerhouse is the only top five scorer by average with a green dot next to his name this week and data suggests he could be the pick of the bunch when it comes to captaincy options as well.

The $895k EDG is projected to hit a round-high score of 65 and has a rich history of performing well against the Warriors, with his last-up 91 lifting his last two game average against the Kiwi side to 73.5.

He had plenty of fun with his matchup against the Warriors' right edge back on ANZAC Day, which included nine tackle busts, a try assist and a try, and could take advantage of a new-look combination on that side this Saturday, with winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak suspended and centre Rocco Berry injured.

Fifita also boasts a commanding run of form at Cbus Super Stadium, averaging 71 points across his past three games there.

Top Trades: David Fifita

If you don't have Fifita, or still aren't convinced he's the leading option as captain this week, then Jahrome Hughes is another who stands out to me.

Right now just about anything good the Storm do on attack involves him in some way and in his last three games the headgear-wearing HLF has six try assists.

He's also coming up against a Dolphins side who have allowed opposing halfbacks to hit scores over 50 against them in each of their past four games, with No.7's averaging a whopping 65 per game against Wayne Bennett's men through that period.

Hughes can do it

James Tedesco (projected score of 57) and Addin Fonua-Blake (54) look like decent options in the next group back, while if you want a real smokie take a punt on Kaeo Weekes.

The Raiders' playmaker will be leading the attack against a Wests Tigers side that can leak points rapidly when they're off and prior to last week's season-low 33 Weekes had a last three game average of 61.

A reminder that in Rounds 13, 16 and 19 only your starting 13 players count towards your score for the round. Interchange player scores will not count towards your team’s total for these rounds, unless they are utilised as auto emergency players.
