Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards has joined Nicho Hynes atop the Dally M leaderboard after a starring performance in Round 9 helped Penrith to a commanding win over the Rabbitohs.
Earning three points in the 42-12 win, Edwards finished the night with 200m run metres, six tackle breaks, two linebreaks, a try assist and six goals from six attempts as the Blues hopeful helped fill the void left by Nathan Cleary.
The performance continues Edwards' strong recent run of form which has seen him collect 12 points in the last three weeks after scoring five points in Round 7 and four points in Round 8 to go with this week's three-point score – now drawing him level with Hynes on 24 points to lead the Dally M race.
The New South Wales hopefuls narrowly lead Bulldogs forward Viliame Kikau on 23 points after he collected five points in his side's win over Wests Tigers.
Kikau too hard to handle
There were only four players to land the maximum six points in Round 9, with Isaah Yeo (Panthers), Elliott Whitehead (Raiders), James Tedesco (Roosters) and Jackson Hastings (Knights) all producing the goods in the teams' respective wins.
AJ Brimson picked up five points despite the Titans going down to the Storm, while six players split the points in the Sharks-Dragons derby – Cameron McInnes (3), Teig Wilton (3), Nicho Hynes (2), Daniel Atkinson (2), Kayal Iro (1) and Ben Hunt (1).
AJ at home at the back
