The girls from Newcastle will head into the new year the hunted as they chase an NRLW three-peat.

With no five-day-turnarounds and a favourable start to the season, the Knights will be looking to put themselves in the box seat to join the Broncos with three consecutive premierships.

Day-by-day breakdown

  • Thursday: 1 games (1 home, 0 away)
  • Saturday: 4 games (0 home, 4 away)
  • Sunday: 4 games (3 home, 1 away)

Turnaround time

  • 5 days: 0 games
  • 6 days: 2 games
  • 7 days: 3 games
  • 8+ days: 3 games

No five-day turnarounds for the Knights in 2024, while they'll also be well rested with three eight-plus-day turnarounds throughout the year. Their most challenging turnaround comes between Round 7 and 8, when they play the Broncos at home on Sunday night before travelling north to face the Titans at Cbus Super Stadium on early Saturday afternoon.

Opening month

  • Round 1: v Roosters (H)
  • Round 2: v Raiders (A)
  • Round 3: v Dragons (H)
  • Round 4: v Sharks (A)

The Knights will enjoy just one game against a finals team in 2023 when they host the Dragons in Round 3 in a Knights doubleheader. Despite what looks like an easier start to the season, Newcastle will be the team everyone wants to beat in 2020 and the opening month their opponents will be fighting to be the first ones to do it.

NRL Doubleheaders

McDonald Jones stadium is set to be rocking in 2024 as the Knights enjoy three club doubleheaders, in Rounds 3, 6 and 7. The defending premiers will also finish the year with NRLW doubleheaders including a grand final rematch in Round 8 against the Titans.

Can't miss game

Round 7 v Broncos, Sunday at McDonald Jones Stadium (H)

While there will undoubtedly be a great deal of focus on their season opener against the Roosters, Newcastle's Round 7 showdown against the Broncos also looms as one of the highlights of the year. Part of a club doubleheader that will see the men's team also play their final regular season game, McDonald Jones Stadium will be rocking for a Sunday afternoon footy feast, with the women's fixture a memorable one for the Novocastrians in 2023 – Jesse Southwell slotting a late conversion to give the home side a come-from-behind win.
