NRL 2023, Round 22 Team of the Week, best players, standout performers

The Panthers have once again dominated the VB Hard Earned Index Team of the Week with five players securing a spot after their statement win over the Sharks in Round 22.

Headlined be lock-forward Isaah Yeo's 85-point performance, the Panthers skipper was joined by co-captain Nathan Cleary (57 points), five-eighth Jarome Luai (67 points), winger Brian To'o (60 points) and veteran prop James Fisher-Harris (76 points).

In addition to his first-half try, Yeo put his hand up for 15 carries, achieved hauls of eight metres or more in 12 of them and engaged the line on 11 occasions in the Panther's 28-0 win over the Sharks.

In his second game back from a hamstring injury, Cleary also made the most of the Panthers' dominant possession on Saturday night, engaging the line on 23 occasions and busting three tackles.

Meanwhile, the Broncos' convincing 32-20 victory over the Roosters saw their big men Payne Haas (81 points) and Patrick Carrigan (74 points) also earn selection in the Round 22 Team of the Week.

Carrigan was rewarded for his work off the ball, making 28 tackles and putting his hand up for six decoy runs.

While Haas was the top ranked middle forward, courtesy of 13 runs of eight-plus metres as well as seven decoy runs and two tackle busts.

Despite going down to the Bulldogs in a Sunday afternoon thriller in Bundaberg, Dolphins impact forward Jarrod Wallace was rewarded for his Round 22 efforts after making 38 tackles, breaking four tackles and racking 10 runs of eight-plus metres.

Latrell Mitchell (67 points) got the nod at fullback after returning for the Rabbitohs for his first game since Round 12 while Zac Lomax (78 points) was named at centre after putting his hand up for 21 runs, 17 over eight metres, four tackle busts and 17 tackles.
