Former Titan Tiana Raftstrand-Smith shifts to the middle as she prepares to take on her old side while co-captain Tallisha Harden will start at prop. Premiership-winners Emma Manzelmann, Makenzie Weale and Autumn-Rain Stephens Daly, who all won the competition with Newcastle last year, are in the starting 13.

Knights: The defending champions will roll out nine players who tasted premiership success last year led by Karyn Murphy medal winner Tamika Upton, who captains the side with Hannah Southwell (knee) not ready for a return. Knights coach Ron Griffiths has opted for Caitlin Moran to partner Jesse Southwell in the halves, giving long-term English prospect Georgia Roche another week of training after only arriving to Australia less than a fortnight ago. There are three players set for NRLW debuts - Kiwi Ferns pair Laishon Albert-Jones and Abigail Roache, along with former Young Matildas captain Sheridan Gallagher, who will start on the wing.
Dragons: Jamie Soward will blood five debutants in Round 1 including rugby sevens convert Tyla Nathan-Wong, who will partner Raecene McGregor in the halves. Rookie winger Shenai Lendill and young gun Alexis Tauaneai will also start with Ella Koster and Jamilee Bright to come off the bench. Only five players are back from Soward's 2022 campaign with Teagan Berry to start at fullback for the first time in her NRLW career.

Star recruits Kezie Apps and Sarah Togatuki are included in the forward pack.

Sharks: There are plenty of familiar faces in Cronulla's inaugural line-up, none more so than Emma Tonegato, who will start in the halves alongside Tayla Preston. Holli Wheeler (knee) remains sidelined with Brooke Anderson to start at lock and Sereana Naitokatoka to come off the bench. Winger Anessa Biddle, All Stars representative Harata Butler and former rugby sevens player Rhiannon Byers are all in line for an NRLW debut while there's no room for former Jillaroo Maddie Studdon, who is listed in the reserves.
Raiders: The Green Machine will have seven debutants for the season opener led by England star Hollie-Mae Dodd and rugby sevens convert Cheyelle Robins-Reti, who will start in the centres alongside Mackenzie Wiki - the daughter of Raiders legend Ruben Wiki. The Raiders have plenty of experience in their spine with Kiwi Ferns fullback Apii Nicholls in the No.1 jersey and Zahara Temara in the halves. Temara will play with younger sister Chante for the first time in their careers at the NRLW level. The bench has four rookies led by former Wallaroo Grace Kemp.
