Warriors dominate Team of the Week despite Broncos loss

A tight defeat at the hands of the Broncos wasn't enough to stop several Warriors players from featuring prominently in the VB Heard Earned Index Round 13 Team of the Week.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (69 points), Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (75 points) and Addin Fonua-Blake (106 points) all topped the point scoring for their respective positions to earn selection in the side, while Tohu Harris (92 points) also made the final 17.

Fonua-Blake's mammoth score was the highest of any player in the bye-affected round, courtesy of a staggering 17 runs of eight-plus metres to go with four tackle busts, two offloads and 25 tackles without missing.

Remarkably, the Warriors prop wasn't the only player to top the century mark with Raiders lock Joseph Tapine finishing with an 101-point performance – his total propped up by 45 tackles without missing along with 15 eight-plus metre runs.

J'maine Hopgood was one of four Eels, including both halves in Dylan Brown and Mitchell Moses, to make the team, while Cowboys trio Peta Hiku, Jake Granville and Heilum Luki also scored strongly despite their side going down on the night.

Usually away over the State of Origin period with Maroons selection, Raiders prop Josh Papali'i – who announced his representative retirement last week – was a welcome inclusion for the Green Machine as they upset the Rabbitohs with his 98-point performance pivotal in the narrow 33-26 win.

Dragons rake Jacob Liddle (67 points) topped the round at hooker with six tackle busts along with 51 tackles – the most of any player in the top 40 scores.
