The trap radar is going off at full volume this week, while there's reason to rethink a popular captaincy choice ahead of Magic Round.

From players who may not be what their recent form suggests they are, to a WFB on the up and the problem Payne Haas faces against Manly, here are some of the big questions surrounding Fantasy owners this week.

Crucial Fantasy calls for Round 10

Be wary of big-minute MIDs

There is a heap of interest this week in Dragons forward Jack de Belin, and for good reason. At $668k, with a 65-point average over the past three weeks, he shapes as being an underpriced elite keeper.

At least he did until Tuesday when he was named at prop rather than lock. There is now too much uncertainty around his minutes, which are almost certain to be reduced at prop, so he's gone from an excellent trade in to a stay away for now.

If you picked him up in previous weeks he is a hold, with a break even of 22 and some money to make, and there is every chance he moves back to lock in the near future anyway.

Horsburgh's all ticker

Also be careful about Corey Horsburgh ($623k). He's played 70 minutes in each of the past three games and averaged 59 points through that period, but it's hard to see him maintaining that playing time long term, while Ricky Stuart also tends to change his forward pack around often, meaning things could change quickly for the fiery lock.

Upside in Drinkwater

As many owners look for answers in the notoriously tricky WFB spot, Cowboys No.1 Scott Drinkwater has emerged as someone there is plenty to like about.

Leading it is his price, with earlier patchy form and suspension leaving him at just $514k, while North Queensland's bye schedule is helpful too, with Drinkwater set to play Rounds 13 and 16 when seven other sides will be out on the bye.

Drinkwater in top form

With his side struggling, Drinkwater is taking on an increasingly prominent role in attack, which last week included kicking for 241 metres (8 Fantasy points), so his base stats are pretty reliable at this point.

Payne a stay away as captain

There is real temptation this week for teams without Nicho Hynes to captain Payne Haas.

He will be fired up for a big game in his return from suspension and has been outstanding all year, with a 66.6 point average and three games where he has scored 70+.

But his opponents this week, the Sea Eagles, are kryptonite for otherwise high-performing Fantasy MIDs, with their style of play tending to see them attack the edges early and often.

That's great news for EDGs who come up against them, but it means middle men often miss out on a stack of base stats.

A look over their last three games shows edge players like David Fifita (game-high 77 points) and Trent Loiero (game-high 53 points) have starred, while middles Josh King (season-low 35) and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and David Klemmer struggled.

Fantasy draft free agent of the week

Rapana grabs a double

Given the lack of decent WFB options around in most Draft leagues, Jordan Rapana warrants a look this week after being released from a number of teams following his injury in Round 6. Like most WFBs, he's a high-ceiling, low-floor option, but is a good chance of having more upside than what you are currently working with.
