Cronulla have moved into second on the NRL Power Rankings after recording back-to-back wins against the Roosters and Bulldogs but it's Brisbane who continue to lead the way heading into Round 9.
Craig Fitzgibbon's side rose two spots from fourth last week to now sit in second on the Power Rankings table despite currently running in fifth spot on the Telstra Premiership ladder – giving them the equal biggest variance (+3) of any team.
The Sharks are joined in disparity by the Raiders, who climbed from 10th to eighth after their bye saw teams around them fall away due to Round 8 defeats.
Canberra enter Round 9 sitting in 11th spot on the ladder.
Elsewhere, the Panthers, Warriors and Eels all saw their stock fall over the ANZAC weekend after defeat in their respective matches. Penrith fell three spots from second to fifth while the Warriors and Eels both dropped four spots respectively to enter the new round outside the top eight.
The Dolphins' stunning comeback over the Titans saw them jump four places from 11th to seventh while the Cowboys (16th to 14th) and Wests Tigers (17th to 16th) also saw minor improvements after their strong showings.
Canterbury currently sit in 17th spot on the Power Rankings ladder after a third consecutive defeat by 13 points or more.
