The Sydney Roosters have officially unveiled the Nick Politis Centre of Excellence, set to be the Club’s home for at least the next 25 years.
The ribbon was officially cut on the state of the art facility this evening, with the Club announcing the centre would be named after Chairman, Nick Politis AM.
“It’s no secret how much the Sydney Roosters means to me, and I am genuinely humbled to see my name at the entrance to our wonderful new Centre of Excellence,” Mr Politis said.
“I was elected Chairman of the Club in May 1993, and it makes me incredibly proud to see where we are today, 30 years later.
“I take so much pleasure from my involvement with the Club, and would once again like to thank my board for this wonderful honour.”
Politis was surprised with a gift by the members of the Roosters Board of Directors – a bust (statue) of Nick which will take pride of place in the main entryway to the facility.
Over 160 people - including NSW Minister of Sport Alister Henskens - attended the centre for the unveiling, coinciding with the 115th anniversary of the day the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club was formed at Paddington Town Hall.

The 25-year lease on the venue underlines a rich history between the Roosters and the Moore Park precinct, with the Roosters calling the area home since games were first played here in 1908.
Sydney Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson, spoke proudly about the Club’s long and storied history in the precinct.
“Four grounds, within a couple of hundred metres of where we stand now, have been our home for 115 years,” Robinson said.
"Every day, it's been our home.
"Now, we get to call this beautiful facility our home again."
The Nick Politis Centre of Excellence runs along the entire eastern grandstand of Allianz Stadium, housing a state-of-the-art gym, lecture theatre, sauna and recovery pools.
The Roosters also unveiled ‘The Foundation Room’, a Club museum containing artifacts ranging from our first season in 1908 all the way up to the modern day.
