Season shapers: Dolphins

Opening month

The NRL's newest team will kick off their journey with an historic clash against the Roosters at Suncorp Stadium on March 5. They'll remain in Queensland and host the Raiders in Redcliffe before their first away game against the Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium. Their Round 4 clash will be one of the season's most anticipated with the Dolphins hosting the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

Origin watch

The Dolphins will host St George Illawarra prior to Origin I with a handful of players potentially on representative duty from both sides. They'll avoid the same build-up to Origin II with a bye in Round 16, freshening them up for a clash against the Eels on the Sunshine Coast. The Dolphins will finish the Origin period with matches against the Titans (away) and Panthers (home).

The run home

Trips to Sydney will kick-start the final month of the season before back-to-back games at Suncorp Stadium to finish their regular campaign. After taking on the Roosters in Round 1, the rematch will take place at Allianz Stadium before the Wests Tigers host Wayne Bennett's side in Parramatta. The Cowboys and Warriors will be the final two home matches ahead of the finals.

And another thing...

The Dolphins have avoided road trips to venues which have proven notoriously difficult to win at for other clubs in recent years including BlueBet Stadium, PointsBet Stadium, AAMI Park and CommBank Stadium. They'll play the Panthers, Sharks, Storm and Eels all on home turf, which will be shared between Moreton Daily Stadium, Sunshine Coast Stadium and Suncorp Stadium throughout the 2023 season.
