Matchups to target in Bundy Mixer Gameweek 4

Nathan Cleary

After sitting out his side’s last five matches through suspension, Cleary will be chomping at the bit to get back on the field and make a difference for his side. The NSW No.7 has a history of returning well to club football after time away on rep duties or out injured, while he will no doubt be out to make a point against the Eels after they got the better of his side on two separate occasions this year. It’s a big call to bring him in as it will require overlooking the top HLF in Mixer, Nicho Hynes, but I like the idea of Cleary this week.

Brisbane’s NRLW left side

In Gameweek 3 the Broncos’ lethal left edge of Jaime Chapman, Amber Hall and Tarryn Aiken were all in their side’s top-four scorers in Mixer, with Chapman leading the way with 93, helped by a hattrick of tries, followed by Hall on 54 and Aiken on 51. They are in sync as a group right now and all playing well individually too, so look for them to score well again this week v the Dragons.

Angus Crichton

The Roosters back-rower has been easily the best EDG player in Mixer through the first three weeks, averaging 70.7 points, a full 17 points per game more than the next best player in that position, Shaun Lane. Crichton hit 74 last week and will be up for another big game against his former side South Sydney.

Tiana Penitani

Parramatta’s left centre comes up against a Titans’ right edge who had huge problems containing the Broncos last week, giving up three tries and being exposed on a number of other occasions. While the New South Wales representative hasn’t had a big year in attack so far, this is a favourable match up for Penitani. In between her two Mixer scores under 20 this year, she hit 65 against the Dragons in round 2.
