The National Rugby League is pleased to announce the finalists for the six individual and collective grassroots awards which will feature as part of the 2022 NRL Community Awards.
Established in 2007, the NRL Community Awards have become the most significant opportunity for our game’s unsung heroes to receive the recognition and thanks they deserve for the tireless work they do in the community.
The NRL Community Awards consist of eight award categories from the grassroots to the elite, with the Grassroots Awards consisting of six awards with the inclusion of the inaugural Indigenous Community Award for season 2022.
Each judging Panel is chaired by an Australian Rugby League Commissioner and is joined by representatives from across the game relevant to each award.
The following will be recognised as part of the Community Awards.
- Indigenous Community Award
- Volunteer of The Year
- Young Person of The Year
- Community Rugby League Club of The Year (proudly supported by Your Local Club)
- Women in League Award
- Teacher of The Year
“The NRL recognises the incredibly hard work and countless hours that take place in the community by volunteers; individuals and clubs who have gone above and beyond for Community Rugby League.” said Andrew Every, NRL Head of Participation, Community & Game Development
“Rugby league means so much to so many and the NRL Community Awards is an opportunity for our game’s unsung heroes to receive recognition for their tireless service to the community. Our volunteers are the heart of the game so congratulations to the finalists in all six categories — a true reflection of the incredible work of thousands of volunteers that happens across the country to make rugby league the greatest game for all.
"I would like to thank ClubsNSW for their continued support of the NRL Community Awards, sponsoring the 2022 Community Rugby League Club of the Year under the Your local club banner.”
