Canberra’s left edge
Last week six of Canberra’s nine tries against the Sea Eagles came down their left edge, and between them left-side players Hudson Young (71 Bundy Mixer points), Sebastian Kris (58) and Jordan Rapana (53) had a field day. It’s clearly the side they favour right now, and with the Green Machine playing so well it’s unlikely that will change. On Sunday they’ll come up against a Wests Tigers side with leaky edge defence and it’s easy to see another big score coming this trio’s way.
Tamika Upton
The Knights fullback had a good game last Sunday which ended in her scoring 60 in Bundy Mixer, and has the potential to rack up some good attacking stats against the Eels in Gameweek 3. Even without her try last week, Upton was set for a big score thanks to her 241 run metres and seven tackle breaks, and outside of her own ability, the big thing in Upton’s favour right now is the way her middle forwards are playing, which in turn is opening up plenty of opportunities for second-phase play.
Jeremiah Nanai
We know he can score tries, he has 18 of them already this year, and against a seriously understrength Panthers side he could have some big numbers in attack. On Saturday night Nanai will come up against new edge combinations who will likely struggle to handle him, which is a recipe for tackle breaks, offloads and tries. He is worth a look as an EDG option this week.
Bremner and McGregor combine for absolute pearler
Raecene McGregor
The Roosters’ No.7 is in great form right now and after guiding the Tricolours past her former side Brisbane last week, will be primed for a shot at the Dragons who she started her NRLW career with. After opening the season with 47 Mixer points, she hit 68 last week and is developing a lethal combination with fullback Samantha Bremner, which is going to result in plenty of try assists this year.
