Final Four: Manly Sea Eagles

Two weeks ago, the Sea Eagles were riding a three-game winning streak and looked primed for a crack at the top eight.

With losses to the Eels and Roosters, however, Manly's momentum has stalled and Des Hasler's side now finds itself four points adrift of eighth place and needing to win the majority of their remaining matches to remain a chance at finals football.

Outside of fullback Tom Trbojevic, Manly have their star players fit and available and the playoffs is still in reach if they are good enough.

The final four games

  • Round 22 v Titans (A)
  • Round 23 v Sharks (H)
  • Round 24 v Raiders (A)
  • Round 25 v Bulldogs (A)

With three games against sides currently outside of the top eight, the Sea Eagles have, on paper, a slightly easier run to the finals than some other sides battling on the edge of the eight.

Home, sweet home

4 Pines Park has been a relatively happy hunting ground this year, with Manly dropping just three games at their home stadium. Their remaining game at home is against the in-form Sharks, and they'll be hoping the Northern Beaches faithful are out in force to help get their team over the line.

On the road

Alongside the Dragons, Manly have the worst away record this season of any team in reach of the top eight, with just two victories as the road team in 2022. The Sea Eagles head up to Cbus Super Stadium to play the Titans before finishing the regular season with back-to-back road games against the Raiders and Bulldogs.

Must-watch game

Right now the Sea Eagles and Raiders sit next to each other on the ladder, and this match could well be a loser-leaves-town clash in terms of top-eight chances.

Manly were 25-6 winners over the Green Machine when they met earlier this year in Mudgee, and they'll be desperate for a similar result when they meet in Round 24.

  • Best case finish: 5th
  • Worst case finish: 14th
