Fans can watch 272 players, across at least 640 minutes of action, during NRL Magic Round Brisbane, delivered by KFC, for as little as $99.
The National Rugby League (NRL) today released three-day passes ahead of NRL Magic Round Brisbane, delivered by KFC, in Round 10 of the Telstra Premiership at Suncorp Stadium.
Following the enormous success of the festival featuring all eight games at Suncorp Stadium, NRL Magic Round Brisbane, delivered by KFC, will return from May 13-15.
“Magic Round is a unique and fun event for players and fans. It has grown to become a highlight for both locals and many travelling fans from around the country,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said.
“It’s an opportunity for fans to see all 16 Clubs compete at one of the best stadiums in the world. Magic Round is not just about the football, with interactive experiences around the stadium precinct for fans.
“Last year more than 130,000 fans attended and with borders open across the country we are hoping for even more to attend this year.”
Mr Abdo thanked the Queensland Government, Brisbane City Council and KFC for their ongoing support of Magic Round.
Queensland Tourism and Sport Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said Magic Round Brisbane 2022 confirmed the Queensland capital as the centre of the Rugby League universe.
“The NRL’s Magic Round will be a winner for Brisbane’s visitor economy with more than 100,000 fans spending $22 million with local businesses,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
“From accommodation and transport providers to cafes and Brisbane tourism operators, Magic Round’s three-day festival of football has potential to sprinkle spending across the city.
“Magic Round is the perfect opportunity for interstate fans to book a few extra days to explore Brisbane’s many visitor experiences.
“After hosting last year’s State of Origin series, the finals and the Grand Final, I know sport-loving Queenslanders can’t wait for more live NRL magic at the world-class Suncorp Stadium in 2022.”
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said: “Having all 16 NRL teams playing at Suncorp Stadium is huge for Brisbane rugby league fans who get to enjoy a feast of football over one weekend.
“The NRL Magic Round also continues to kick goals for our local economy which is why my Council supports it through the Brisbane Economic Development Agency.
“With the easing of COVID restrictions and people more confident about travelling, having the Magic Round in Brisbane will draw rugby league fans from across Queensland as well as from interstate.
“This helps fill local hotels beds, create additional restaurant bookings and deliver extra customers to our retailers.
“Brisbane’s emergence as a vibrant city, with a variety of new and exciting destinations like Howard Smith Wharves, Fish Lane and James Street, has also helped make the Magic Round such a success because people across Australia are discovering what a great place our city has become.”
Three-day pass tickets are now on sale for NRL Club and State members (ticketed and non-ticketed), with General Public tickets available from 1pm AEST.
Magic Round 3-day passes start from $99 for adults, while three-day supporter bay passes start from $145. The special early bird prices will end on Sunday, April 17. Single day passes will be on sale on March 7.
