Manly skipper Daly Cherry-Evans has confirmed 2025 will be his last season at the club after formally declining a contract extension.

The Sea Eagles offered the halfback a two-year deal after he publicly declared on Monday his intentions to either depart or retire at the end of the season.

Cherry-Evans has stuck to his initial plan and turned down the offer. He is yet to determine if he will hang up the boots or play on in 2026.

“I wanted to confirm I was leaving the club now, rather than making a call later in the season, so that we can get on with our goal of winning a premiership,” he said.

“I love this club and this group of players.

“I am fully committed to giving my absolute best over the coming months to make this season the best it can possibly be for our team, our club, and our fans.”

Samoa and State of Origin representative Francis Molo will return to Brisbane to join the Dolphins for the 2025 NRL season.

The Dolphins have picked up the remaining term of Molo’s contract after the 2021 Queensland front-rower was given a release by the Dragons.

The 30-year-old is expected to arrive at Dolphins training next week, with his deal confirmed until the end of the 2026 season.

"Frank is a player that I know as I have worked with him before, and he will bring some power and impact to our squad," Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf said.

Veteran utility Dylan Walker has joined the Eels after being granted an early release on compassionate grounds by the Warriors.

The 30-year-old joined the Warriors on a three-year deal at the start of the 2023 season and has played 46 games for the club.

“We were keen for Dylan to stay until the end of the season but we appreciate why he needs to return to Sydney,” said Warriors CEO Cameron George.

“We’ve really enjoyed having him at our club and he has given us tremendous service. He goes with our support and best wishes.”

A member of South Sydney's 2014 premiership side, Walker will link with the Eels for the remainder of the 2025 season and 2026.

"We’re excited to have a player of Dylan’s caliber join the Eels. Dylan is such a tough competitor who will suit our style of football and he will provide class and experience to our team," said Eels general manager of football Mark O'Neill.

The Canberra Raiders have confirmed the signing of Knight Jayden Brailey on a two-year contract from the commencement of the 2026 season.

Brailey debuted in 2017 for the Sharks and has played a total of 133 NRL matches. He is currently playing for the Knights, where he has made 64 appearances since joining them from the Sharks in 2020.

The Cowboys have agreed to a one-year contract extension with outside back Tom Chester for the 2026 season.

Townsville born and raised, Chester forged his reputation through the QRL pathways, before earning a Cowboys Young Guns contract in 2021 and graduating to an NRL Development contract in 2022.

Knee injuries have unfortunately stalled Chester’s career, suffering ACL injuries in 2023 and again last December in advance of the 2025 season after making his debut in 2022.

“Tom has had a horrible run with injury over the last few seasons, but we still believe he has the potential to have a successful NRL career,” Cowboys General Manager of Football Micheal Luck said.

“He is a passionate North Queenslander and we are excited to be able to keep Tom here in his home town.

Rising star Bailey Hayward has signed a contract extension at the Bulldogs through to the end of the 2026 season.

The 23-year-old has played 23 NRL games since debuting against the Storm in Round 6 of the 2024 season.

"Bailey is a shining example of the kind of players that we are looking to bring through our Academy system,” said Bulldogs general manager of football Phil Gould.

“He is a well-spoken young man that is a local of the Canterbury-Bankstown district."

At the Dragons, Dylan Egan has signed a two-year contract extension through to the end of the 2027 season.

The 20-year-old Dragons Academy graduate makes his NRL debut in Round 4 against the Storm.

“Dylan has been on a path towards NRL for a long time and it’s great to be able to both extend his contract at the club and give him an NRL debut at the same time,” said Dragons coach Shane Flanagan.

“He’s a local junior who has come right through our pathways and Academy system.

“As a player he’s got a big motor and can play on an edge or in the middle."

New Zealand international Brandon Smith will join the South Sydney Rabbitohs on a two-year deal from next season.

The versatile forward has signed with the club for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, joining from arch-rivals the Roosters.

Smith is expected to slot in at lock and hooker for the Rabbitohs and recruitment manager Mark Ellison expects him to make an instant impact next year.

"Brandon has a wonderful record of success in the NRL and at international level, having a 70% success rate across his career," Ellison said.

"He improves the players around him and gives 100% every time he steps on the field and is a great character off the field.

"Wayne [Bennett] has a high opinion of Brandon and they will have the opportunity to work together here at South Sydney.

"We’re delighted to have signed an international-calibre player with a history of premiership success such as Brandon and we wish him the best of luck for the remainder of his time at his current club."

Smith has not played since he suffered a serious knee injury last September and is not expected to return to the field until late in the 2025 season.

Meanwhile, the Knights have re-signed hooker Phoenix Crossland for a further two years through to the end of 2028.

Crossland made his NRL debut for the Knights as an 18-year-old in 2019 and has gone on to play 87 games for the club, including 51 of the past 53 matches.

“Pound-for-pound, Phoenix is one of the toughest players in the NRL," said Knights head of recruitment Peter O’Sullivan.

“With his work ethic, evolving hooker play and ongoing leadership development, Phoenix is fast becoming a poster boy for our pathways development and a genuine role model for aspiring juniors."

Veteran utility Kurt Mann has extended his time at the Bulldogs until at least the end of the 2026 season after inking a new one-year deal.

Arriving at the club in 2024, the 32-year-old has found a home at the Bulldogs after stints at the Storm, Dragons and Knights throughout his career.

A veteran of 11 seasons in the NRL, Mann is the most experienced member of the Bulldogs’ squad and is on track to play his 200th NRL match during the 2025 season.

“Kurt has continually reinvented himself and his game with each coming year,” said Bulldogs general manager of football Phil Gould.

“On the football field he provides leadership, experience, creativity as well as versatility.

“He is the utmost professional and is a very popular and highly valued member of the squad.”

The Bulldogs have also granted Ryan Sutton an immediate release from his contract.

Sutton joined the Bulldogs from Canberra in 2023, playing 13 games in his first season at Belmore.

Fijian flyer Mikaele Ravalawa will join the Rabbitohs for the remainder of the 2025 season as part of an agreement made with the Dragons.

The short-term deal will see the winger move to South Sydney before returning to St George Illawarra next year.

With injuries to Tyrone Munro and Latrell Mitchell, Rabbitohs recruitment manager Mark Ellison said Ravalawa will add much-needed depth to the squad.

“Mikaele is a powerful, big body with a lot of NRL experience and noted try scoring ability, and he will add depth to our outside back stocks,” Ellison said.

“He has represented his country and provides us with a point of difference on our flanks with his aggressive running style.

“We look forward to welcoming Mikaele to the Rabbitohs.”

The Knights have confirmed the signing of Kiwis five-eighth Dylan Brown on a 10-year contract.

Brown will move to Newcastle from Parramatta in 2026 until the end of the 2035 NRL season and is expected to play halfback.

Newcastle have also signed 21-year-old front-rower Wil Sullivan from the Cowboys until at least the end of the 2028 season.

“Wil brings great leg speed, aggression and a carry that will suit our squad," said Knights head of recruitment Peter O’Sullivan.

“He is a junior Queensland representative player, who will challenge for NRL spots at some stage throughout the year.

“Wil proved he was an NRL player in the making during an NRL trial in 2024, unfortunately a ruptured spleen and a syndesmosis injury curtailed his season to just five Queensland Cup games last year, it was the quality of those performances that was impressive."

Former Kangaroos prop David Klemmer will join the Dragons for the rest of the 2025 season after being released by Wests Tigers.

The 31-year-old front-rower has featured in 19 Tests, 14 Origins and 238 first grade games at the Bulldogs, Knights and Wests Tigers.

“I’ve said publicly we are looking to bolster our middle forward stocks for this season so David is a great pick-up for us,” Dragons coach Shane Flanagan said.

“He’s a different body shape to what we’ve got in our forward pack currently and also brings some great experience at Test, Origin and club level.”

The news comes after the Dragons announced that Fijian winger Mikaele Ravalawa would depart immediately before returning to the club in 2026.

Ravalawa has been released for the rest of the 2025 season to play elsewhere, but remains contracted with the Dragons for 2026.

Under the agreement, Ravalawa will leave the Dragons immediately before returning to the club for the 2026 pre-season.

Hard-working forward Josh King has extended his contract with the Storm for a further two years through to the end of 2027.

A product of Singleton Greyhounds, King played 78 games for the Newcastle Knights from 2016-21 before joining the Storm in 2022.

King has played 78 games across his four seasons in Melbourne and has part of the club's leadership group for the last two years.

“The club has become like a second family, and I couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else," King said.

"I’m grateful for the trust and support the club has shown me since arriving, and I’m eager to repay that faith. I look forward to achieving many more milestones in the Storm jersey.”

Versatile forward Simi Sasagi has extended his contract with the Raiders through to the end of the 2026 season.

The former Knight joined the Raiders on a two-year deal at the beginning of 2024 and has played 11 matches for the Green Machine.

"Simi has been a great addition to our squad, with his talent and versatility giving us a player who can cover several positions,” said Raiders recruitment manager Joel Carbone.

“Simi deserves the opportunity to extend his contract, and we look forward to seeing him continue his growth as a player over this season and next.”

Meanwhile, Sharks cult figure Tom Hazelton has signed a three-year contract extension through to the end of the 2028 season.

Hazelton debuted for the Sharks in Round 12, 2022 and has racked up 45 games for the club, scoring 10 tries.

"Tom has established himself as one of the NRL's most exciting front-rowers over the past 18 months and is ready to take the next step in his career towards representative honours," said Sharks general manager football Darren Mooney

"He is a down-to-earth country boy who is deeply respected by his teammates and coaches. We're excited about what we can achieve together."

The Dragons have secured the services of teenage star Jacob Halangahu on a long-term deal after he signed a contract extension with the club.

The deal sees the 18-year-old transition into the club’s Top 30 for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

After linking with St George’s Harold Matthews Cup side in 2022, the back-rower was named to the Australian Schoolboys side in 2023.

Halangahu then moved up to SG Ball where he took home player of the match honours in St George’s drought-breaking 2024 grand final victory and was named the side’s player of the year.

The Dolphins have announced the signing of England international Morgan Knowles on a two-year contract.

Knowles will link up with the Dolphins for the 2026 season after completing his commitments to Super League club St Helens in 2025.

The move will reunite the 28-year-old with Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf, who previously coached Knowles at St Helens, winning three consecutive Super League grand finals together.

"Morgan is one of the hardest-working players I have had the privilege to deal with," Woolf said.

"He is an international forward with an elite skill level and importantly, he is a winner."

Parramatta have confirmed the re-signing of captain Mitch Moses until the end of 2029, which will mark his 13th season in the Blue and Gold.

After making his NRL debut at Wests Tigers in 2014 and playing 67 games Concord, Moses moved to Parramatta in 2017 and has racked up 158 games for the club.

“Mitch has been in consistently good form for many years now but none better than 2024," Parramatta Eels general manager of football Mark O’Neill said.

"The way he performed in Origin last year was outstanding and proved that he belongs in that arena.

“Being recently appointed captain continues the evolution of his development and is a very proud moment for him, his family and our club."

The club have also upgraded Richard Penisini from his development contract to the club's Top 30 squad, effective immediately.

The Sea Eagles have confirmed a contract extension and immediate upgrade for outside back Lehi Hopoate.

Previously on a developmental contract for 2025 and 2026, Hopoate is now elevated to Manly's top 30 squad for the next three seasons, which will see the see the Beacon Hill Bears junior remain with the club until at least the end of 2027.

The Rabbitohs have extended outside back Tyrone Munro until the end of the 2027 season.

The 20-year-old Botany Rams junior has played seven games since making his
NRL debut for the Rabbitohs against the Warriors in Round 18 of the 2023 season. He has crossed for six tries in those seven games.

Wests Tigers have re-signed forward Alex Seyfarth on a new three-year deal through to the end of the 2028 season.

A Balmain junior from the Dundas Shamrocks, the hard-working 26-year-old made his NRL debut for the club in 2020 and has played 70 NRL matches to date.

The Knights have extended the contract of Brodie Jones until at least the end of the 2026 NRL season.

Newcastle head of recruitment Peter O'Sullivan said the 26-year-old had worked hard to establish himself in the NRL, with the dependable workhorse overcoming numerous hurdles during his 10-year journey with the Knights.

The Raiders have re-signed promising youngster Owen Pattie through to the end of the 2028 and also promoted him to their Top 30 for 2025 as part of the new deal.

In 2024, Pattie was named the Jersey Flegg Player of the Year for the competition and finished his season with strong performances for the Raiders' NSW Cup team. He also had an opportunity to play in the club's first Pre-Season Challenge match against the Panthers this year.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys have staved off the potential of Kumuls winger Rob Derby joining the new PNG NRL franchise in 2028 after locking him down for a further three years.

Born in PNG and raised in Cairns, Derby has been part of the Cowboys system since 2022 and graduated to the NRL squad in 2023, making his debut the same year. He has played five Tests for the Kumuls.

With a PNG team due to enter the NRL in 2028, Derby was an obvious recruitment target for the new franchise, but the contract extension means he will remain in North Queensland until at least the end of the new club's debut season.

High-flying winger Ronaldo Mulitalo is set to continue his pursuit of the Sharks all-time try-scoring record after signing a three-year extension with the club.

He has scored 83 tries in 110 NRL matches for the Sharks and will now remain in the Shire through to the end of the 2028 season. Mulitalo currently sits third on the list, with Andrew Ettingshausen holding the record with 166 tries.

Mulitalo was courted by a number of rival clubs but said his dream is to remain a one-club player.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have locked down a pair of talented forwards for the next few years. Jack Todd has signed an extension through to the end of 2026, with Jack Underhill to remain at the club until the end of the 2028 season.

Todd has earned a promotion to the club's Top 30, while Underhill will join the Development List in 2026 and the Top 30 for the final two years of his deal.

South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced the contract extension of forward Tallis Duncan until the end of the 2027 season.

Duncan, a proud Wonnarua man, has played 27 NRL games since making his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs against the Raiders in round 13 of the 2023 season.

Veteran prop Matt Lodge has signed a deal to remain with the Manly Sea Eagles for 2025.

The forward had been in talks with a number of clubs but has opted to re-sign with the Sea Eagles on a deal that will see him start the year in NSW Cup with the opportunity to play his way into the NRL side.

St George Illawarra have bolstered their front-row stocks with the signing of Emre Guler for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

The 27-year-old joins the Dragons after playing 93 NRL games for the Raiders over the past seven seasons, along with one Prime Minister’s XIII appearance.

Knights young gun Fletcher Sharpe has signed a contract extension that keeps him at McDonald Jones Stadium through to the end of the 2028 season.

The 20-year-old made his NRL debut against the Storm in Round 14 last year and went on to score 11 tries in 12 games.

Sharpe rounded out an impressive rookie season by representing the Australian PM's XIII against PNG in Port Moresby in October.
