NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said MacDougall’s success with The Man Shake and The Lady Shake venture was a wonderful link to partner with State of Mind.
“Adam is a real success story, and his journey, particularly in recent years with The Man Shake, has been inspirational,” Abdo said.
“To have Adam and his team commit such a significant amount to our important mental wellbeing program is a wonderful gesture.
“Adam should be very proud of his achievements, and to be able to give back to the game he has been part of for long is a testament not only to his success and dedication as a player, but also his willingness to give back and help others..
“A healthy lifestyle and mental health awareness are incredibly important messages which our game and Adam’s successful venture help to enable."
MacDougall, who played in both of the Newcastle Knights' two premiership victories in 1997 and 2001 and retired from football in 2011, launched The Man Shake following his critical analysis of many aspects of the health industry, including his concerns with the dangerous amounts of sugar in so-called health products.
The CEO and founder of The Man and Lady Shake, MacDougall, said: “I’m really excited to be partnering up with the NRL to help rugby league fans get healthier and fitter while still enjoying a beer and burger and cheering on their team.
"I am also happy that I can also support such a wonderful charity in State of Mind in a world where mental health continues to affect so many Australians.”
With a loyal customer base well into the hundreds of thousands, The Man Shake and Lady Shake have changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Australians by providing a healthy, low in sugar, high in protein shake option that is having outstanding results.
