Knights star Kalyn Ponga has been ruled out of Sunday's clash against the Sea Eagles after failing to get through training this week due to a groin injury.
Ponga was scheduled to make a return from the complaint after missing the past fortnight of the Telstra Premiership in his final club fixture before the Ampol State of Origin series opener.
He is now in serious doubt for the series opener on June 9, while Tex Hoy is likely to replace him at fullback for the Knights on Sunday.
