The pre-game entertainment for the 2021 Ampol State of Origin series has been announced, with four Australian acts to entertain crowds in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
Pop duo The Veronicas will kick off the music in Origin I in Melbourne on June 9, before Brisbane-based indie pop band Sheppard will perform at Suncorp Stadium for Origin III on June 27.
The Veronicas are a multi-platinum, multi-ARIA award-winning pop duo featuring twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso.
"As young girls growing up, we watched the State of Origin every year with our Dad, cheering on Queensland," said Lisa and Jessica, who hail from Brisbane.
"It's a dream come true to play at this iconic sporting event. We know the vital role music plays in hyping and motivating audiences and players, so we intend to show Australia that two girls from Brisbane can do it loud and proud at the MCG."
Sydney's Stadium Australia will host two acts ahead of the final game of the series on July 14, with rising stars Lime Cordiale and Indigenous Australian rapper JK-47.

Sheppard, an Indie pop band featuring siblings George, Amy and Emma Sheppard, said: "It’s such an honour to have been offered the pre-game entertainment for the State of Origin.
"We love a hometown crowd, we love Queensland, and after the year we've all had, to be back playing and cheering on our team at Suncorp Stadium, it's a bit of a dream to be honest."
