The NRL today confirmed the match officials for the second Ampol State of Origin match, at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday, November 11.

The Referees Appointments Committee nominated the same group which officiated in the first State of Origin to take charge of the second encounter.

Gerard Sutton will referee his 18th consecutive Origin match.

“The Referees Appointments Committee felt the officials deserve the opportunity to take charge of the second match,” NRL Head of Football Elite Competitions Graham Annesley said.

“The appointment committee reviewed all aspects of the opening match very closely, and despite some public commentary about time keeping, the review found the referee was correct.”

The Referees Appointments Committee also appointed Belinda Sharpe to referee the Harvey Norman Women’s State of Origin fixture, at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Friday, November 13.

“Belinda has officiated well throughout the year and I congratulate her on this achievement,” Mr Annesley said.
