There was no easing back from a hamstring injury for Broncos centre Kotoni Staggs, who recorded the top speed of round 11 after five weeks on the sidelines.
Staggs's return couldn't save Brisbane from another heavy defeat against the Storm but the 21-year-old at least earned his team Telstra Tracker bragging rights after he reached 35.9km/h.
Nipping at his heels was teammate Xavier Coates, who was clocked at 35.6km/h last Friday night. The 19-year-oldĀ is the equal-leader of this season's NRL pace race with his round-six speed of 36.9km/h against Newcastle.
Dragons pair Jason Saab (35.3km/h) and Matt Dufty (33.9) came in next in round 11, with Rabbitohs rookie Jaxson Paulo (33.7) completing the top five as he quickly makes a name for himself.
Elsewhere, Knights captain Mitchell Pearce covered the most distance with 9.7km in his side's loss to Canterbury.
Eels skipper Clint Gutherson (9.6km), Roosters halves Luke Keary and Kyle Flanagan (both 9.6) and Wests Tigers hooker Harry Grant (9.5) also made it onto the leaderboard.
Grant was just the sixth forward all year to make the Maximum Distance top five, which is usually dominated by halves and fullbacks.
South Sydney centre Dane Gagai made the most high speed efforts - bursts of 20km/h or more - in a loss to Canberra.
The Queensland Origin star's total of 37 was enough to beat Newcastle back Enari Tuala (36), young teammate Paulo (34), consistent Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen (33) and Saab (33).
