The Broncos are set to field their fourth centre combination in as many weeks after Kotoni Staggs suffered a hamstring injury suffered at training.
Staggs went for a run at speed and then pulled up in pain on Sunday.
He was immediately escorted from the training field and Broncos head of performance Paul Devlin said he would be "most likely be scanned in the coming days" before Thursday night’s clash with Newcastle in Gosford.
Jesse Arthars suffered a tibial plateau fracture against the Roosters in round four and is set to miss four to six weeks.
Captain Alex Glenn trained on Sunday and went into the centres for a stint when Staggs left the field.
Broncos forward Joe Ofahengaue was close to Staggs when he went down.
"I haven’t talked to our staff here but it seemed a bit serious. He was in some kind of pain and the staff ran on the field to give him a hand," he said.
"Speaking of that, we have got a job to do this week with whoever steps up in his place."

Fullback Jamayne Isaako said Glenn had done the job at centre previously and would have "no problem filling in", if required by coach Anthony Seibold.
Ofahengaue said there were positive signs in the 20-18 loss to Manly but added the side needed to "adapt faster to what is happening around us".
Brisbane held an 18-0 lead but when momentum started to turn, they were unable to turn the tide.
Staggs straight back into tryscoring form
Former premiership-winning forward Peter Ryan has been welcomed back to the club as a skills coach.
Ryan, who played 147 games for Brisbane in the 1990s, was the defensive coach in 2006 when the club last won a title.
"He was aggressive and stripped us down to the basics," Ofahengaue said of Ryan’s first defensive session with the group.
"I got a lot out of the time he had with us. With defence it is all about attitude and we’ve got to step it up another level."
Issac Luke has secured a release from the Dragons and is set to sign with the Broncos in the coming days.
In the wake of Andrew McCullough’s release to the Knights and Jake Turpin’s leg injury the former Rabbitohs and Warriors rake is set to provide much-needed experience.
"I sent him a text last night to welcome him to the club and he said it was always his dream to play at the Broncos," Ofahengaue said.
"It was pretty special hearing that. I can’t wait to start working with him and picking his brain."
Isaako has switched to dummy-half from fullback in the last two games.
"It has been quite tough," he said.
"We have had to adjust with [Cory] Paix going off for an HIA against the Roosters and Tesi Niu coming on at fullback and me filling in at nine.
"It is a position that I have never played but when the message comes to do it you have to adjust and play to what is in front of you."
Tevita Pangai jnr trained strongly on Sunday and is set to return from suspension in the back row against the Knights with veteran Ben Te’o to get his second game off the bench.
"Everyone knows what Te’o has done in the game. He help out the boys a lot when we are defending. He knows how to read opposition shapes and brings that experience and tells us how important talk is," Ofahengaue said.
"Having him around the club has given everyone a boost."
