Recently retired Wests Tigers legend Robbie Farah will lace up the boots again on Saturday for a great cause - albeit with a round ball at his feet.
Farah will play alongside a host of ex-internationals for the Albion Park City Invitational XI in a charity soccer clash against NPL champions Wollongong Wolves at Ian McLennan Park.
Former Socceroos Luke Wilkshire, David Carney, Brett Emerton, Ljubo Milicevic, Zeljko Kalac, Scott Chipperfield and Steve Corica are among those locked in to make guest appearances for Albion Park.
Entry to the "Football for Firies" fixture is a $2 donation, with all proceeds going towards the Salvation Army's bushfire relief efforts on the south coast of NSW.
Farah, a massive Liverpool fan, watches a lot of soccer but it's been a while since he's played.
"First and foremost it's a great cause and one everyone wants to get behind," Farah told NRL.com.
"And then also to have the opportunity to play with some of the legends of football, a lot of the Socceroos legends, guys that I've watched for a long time, it'll definitely be a fun outing for me.
"Hopefully I don't embarrass myself on the field alongside them. Hopefully, my competitive nature will kick in once I'm out there.
"I'm sure the game will be in good spirits but no doubt we'll be out there trying to win as well.
"They're tossing up playing me on the left of midfield or up front somewhere. Hopefully, I can get a goal on the night, that would be pretty cool."
Farah's storied 17-year NRL career finished at the end of 2019 after 303 games plus appearances for the Blues, Australia and Lebanon.
The champion hooker is content with his decision to retire.
"I've been doing a fair bit of travelling and I've got my events company, Two4Seven, that's keeping me busy," Farah said.

"I went over to the UK last year and we met with all the big English Premier League clubs over there. I played in a charity Rugby Sevens tournament over in Dubai.
"I've just been moving around. I'm off to the Super Bowl in Miami in a couple of weeks as well. So I'm definitely not missing pre-season at this time of year."
