Australia coach Mal Meninga has opted not to draft in a replacement squad player after Luke Keary was ruled out of Australia's end of season Tests against Australia and New Zealand due to his ongoing ankle injury.
Keary has succumbed to the syndesmosis injury he carried through the Roosters' premiership run. He required painkilling needles to play in their preliminary and grand final wins.
On Friday the Kangaroos confirmed Meninga would not draft a replacement into the 18-man squad, with Daly Cherry-Evans and Cameron Munster to start as Australia’s halves.
It is not known whether Keary will require off-season surgery or just an extended recovery period.
Australia host New Zealand in Wollongong next Friday before taking on Tonga a week later in Auckland.
