After battling through a "horror stretch" to end the season, Warriors coach Stephen Kearney has laid out the blueprint for his side to improve in 2020 after downing Canberra 24-20 at GIO Stadium.
The Warriors were able to finish their disappointing season on a high by scoring two tries in the last 12 minutes to score the upset over the finals-bound Canberra side.
Heading into the round 25 game, they had won only one of their past six games.
Despite suffering a slew of injuries, the result showed Kearney yet again what the side is capable of.
However, after averaging 35 points scored against them each game, the Warriors coach knows consistency and defence will be the side's mantra in the 2020 pre-season.
"It's been a bit of a horror stretch and to come here, missing Dave [Fusitu'a] who pulled out just before the game, we left seven NRL players back in Auckland through injury," Kearney said.
"The lads have always believed that we've got some footy in us, we just haven’t been consistent enough.
"That's the reality of the situation, it was just about coming here and sticking to what we think works for us."

As much as consistency is the ultimate goal for the Warriors, Kearney says his side isn't so different to the rest of the competition.
"I believe you have to be consistent at training, I believe that's part of the process," he said.
"To be fair there's probably only three teams in the competition that have been super consistent for the past 15 years.
"So, everybody is trying to reach that level so we're no different. We'll have an opportunity to reflect on the year over the next week and we'll make some adjustments to our game model."
Last time the Warriors played the Raiders they were left humbled in round 20, when they were thumped 46-12 in Auckland.
Fast forward five weeks and the Warriors showed improved resolve to not lose control of the contest, dispute giving away penalties at crucial times in the first half.
"I know the character is there and we had a stretch of games earlier in the season just before we hit the back end of the year where the lads fought really hard," Kearney said.
"A stretch of six games where it was a point [margin], two points, draw, and the guys kept at it. But in this competition it's 25 rounds you have to be consistent every week."
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was in instrumental in his side's comeback, starting and finishing an incredible team try in the 68th minute to go with his 252 metres and 14 tackle breaks.

"That's Roger. He's our skipper and a wonderful leader so he's super determined to win and he showed that in the last 15 minutes. He really showed he wanted to come away with the result," Kearney said.
The game was also the club debut for Taane Milne, who was called up late after Fusitu'a (hamstring) was a late withdrawal. Milne was sacked by Wests Tigers in April 2018 after he failed a drugs test.
"Taane has his indiscretions over the last couple of years but he wrote me a letter before the pre-season saying he wanted an opportunity and that he'd stuffed up," Kearney said.
"He took ownership of that, so we gave him a pre-season and he trained well and it took him until round 25 to play. He had to earn his opportunity and I was really pleased for him today."
