Milford named for Broncos return; Isaako trains

Anthony Milford has been named to return from injury for the Brisbane Broncos against the Warriors after running freely at training on Tuesday morning.

Milford suffered an MCL injury in the round 15 loss to Newcastle and had a cortisone injection last week to take the pain away.

The Brisbane talisman trained at fullback before undergoing a fitness test with explosive run-throughs between a series of witches hats.

The Samoan international looked strong and unimpeded as he went about his work.

How he pulls up in the days ahead will no doubt determine whether he takes the field on Saturday night at Suncorp Stadium.

Brisbane prop Payne Haas said Milford had impressed him at training with his verve and speed and expected him to line up against the Warriors, as named.

"He is looking really good. I think he has got a few tests to get through but he was awesome out there," Haas told NRL.com.

"As you can see, he moves around crazy. He is a freak. Just to have him around the team builds you up and gives you a lot of confidence.

"Milf is a great player and I am just happy to have him around. As you can see, he was killing it out there."

In other good news for the Broncos, winger Jamayne Isaako returned from a fortnight's personal leave to train on the wing. 

Isaako has been named on an extended bench but could yet come into the game day 17.

Brisbane named Maroons stars Corey Oates, David Fifita and Joe Ofahengaue but their availability will not be known for certain until after the State of Origin decider on Wednesday night.

Captain Darius Boyd, fresh from an outstanding game against the Sharks at fullback, trained at five-eighth for Brisbane on Tuesday and will take his place in the halves alongside Jake Turpin against the Warriors.

Coach Anthony Seibold said last week he would continue with Boyd in the front line when Milford returned from injury.

Teenage outside backs Xavier Coates and Herbie Farnworth, who made impressive debuts against the Sharks, have both been retained. Farnworth has been named to play centre and Coates on the wing against the Warriors.
