Melbourne Storm have added Tongan international Solomone Kata and Titans forward Max King to their squad as part of an announcement that included four changes to their roster.
In the other changes, 21-year-old hooker Harry Grant has been promoted to the club's top 30 and fullback Scott Drinkwater has been released so he can sign with the North Queensland Cowboys immediately.
Kata – who played for Tonga against New Zealand on Saturday night – and King will join Storm training in the coming days. They are both signed until the end of the 2020 season.
Kata played 93 NRL matches during his time with the Warriors plus six Tests for Tonga. He has twice finished as the Auckland-based club's leading try scorer for a season.
King has played 38 games for the Titans since debuting in 2017 while Grant's sole NRL game to date came in round 11 last year against Manly.
Storm general manager Frank Ponissi told the club website the addition of Kata and King would provide an immediate boost.
"We are delighted to be able to sign two players of Solomone and Max's calibre and thank the Warriors and Titans for allowing them to join us before the June 30 deadline," he said.
"We're also very pleased to promote the Intrust Super Cup's best player of the past two seasons, Harry Grant, to our top 30 squad.
"Harry has been part of our system for some time and his NRL contract is a great reward for the dedication he has put into improving his game."
