Five straight wins - including a comprehensive victory against the premiers - isn't the only good news of late for the Newcastle Knights.

Thanks to the fans, Knights back-rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon was awarded the NRL.com Tackle of the Week for Round 11.

Fitzgibbon's physical play against the Roosters was enough for him to finish just clear of Raiders and Blues winger Nick Cotric.

Manly prop Martin Taupau and Penrith's Jarome Luai were the other finalists.
